What exactly is a stuttering dick? Doubt it is happy, dancing or hopping...

it was probably a grammar mistake (spl) or toned down a tad :o

Shouldn't it be spelt d-d-d-d-dick?:)

Can someone explain the article in today's Age that rated the liveability of all Melbourne's suburbs? If you can please explain to me how Borewood comes in at 80 out of 321 and ahead of Fitzroy at 82? Good heavens I mean the two suburbs are like chalk and cheese. And then the suburb of my birth Box Hill South comes in at 83! So with all I have achieved in my life I have moved one rung up the liveability scale or 0.003% improvement in 30 years! Don't say a word of this to DC.

Yes, clearly the first thing up against the wall when the revolution comes is a few uppity suburbs whose reputation has long exceeded their true worth. Throw in a few footy clubs in some of those suburbs (Collingwood, Carlton, Essendon) and now you are talking ... :)

Borewood cannot be ranked above Old Fitzroy unless there are bonus points for sterility and lifelessness.

I wonder how Tittybong ranks with Stuttering Dicks Creek

Or if Shiitterton in the UK is Better then the town of Hole?

A ridiculous article that lacks any credibility whatsoever. I glanced at it expecting to see Romsey firmly entrenched at number1 but to my and the lads chagrin, Romsey was not mentioned. The lads were so outraged they damaged their computer and have cancelled their subscription to that vile newspaper.

i drove through fitzroy yesterday on the way to north carlton

i wish i hadn't

You should have continued dc, and meandered in a roughly NW direction, until you reached sunny shores of Romsey. The inadequacies of Borewood would have been immediately apparent.

The South of France was not rated anywhere near North Carlton but I imagine it has some other benefits.

I trust his pension will be spent on wine, great food and immoral women.

and the rest squandered.

Aren't we straying somewhat away from topic?

That is such a sensible comment it doesn't even need to be accompanied by a phalanx of emojis.

That can fixed (and DC did it for me!)

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

  • PREGAME: St. Kilda

With just over two weeks until their opening match of the 2026 AFL Premiership season, the Demons are already well on the path to redemption and have the Saints firmly in their sights ahead of their mid-March clash at the MCG. What do you think the team will look like when they run out on to the G?

Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.

The Dees ran another clinic for the second week in a row as they easily accounted for the Tigers in the lightning interrupted shortened match at Mars Stadium in Ballarat.
