To start I really enjoyed the win on Saturday.

However I feel quite off hand about the MFC right now.

I feel like oh good the club is getting going at last so they don't need me any more.

The membership will probably take a big rise this week and when we win next weekend it will go up again.

Next two weeks are interstate then Richmond at the G which will be the only game I can go to till the Hawks game ( OS for 3 weeks )

This may be contributing but I feel quite detached at present strange!

Wait until we are 4-0 OD ...

It's either too much single malt or .... more probably not enough OD.

Zero Bbo

But some nice heathcote red at my sisters on Saturday night.

Shiraz from Heathcote is usually top class. Hope you downed some of your sister's pinot.

Interesting Bbo their entire grop of grapes this year was destroyed by European wasps so no 2015 vintage.

But the 2014 is coming along nicely in the barrels.

And yes we did crack a couple of 2013.

Top 4 oh what a feeling!

Jazza you need to think higher

Another 21 games to go DF.

Don't get too far ahead of yourself.

I hope JV plays on number 9 if he gets a game. A couple of those smashes into the ground would go down well.

Redleg how dare you.

Go to the back of the class in the corner please!

Need to build on that win. Have to roll GWS in Canberra. Need to win the games we have a chance to win. Best thing is for the players to gain belief.

Agree Redleg. Momentum would be good for this group.

WOW that is disturbing news

We are coming off bumper crops of magnificent grapes in all the North East.

The concern is what to do with the the large quantity of last years not so good which were kept after a few years of small yields of excellent quality. Price points are being put into interesting perspective.

The euro wasps have been bad but I havent heard they affected the harvest.

My sister grows only Pino and they seem to like it best. She also has some table grapes mixed in and as yet they have not touched them.

When i was there on Sunday the vines are just a mass of wasps. My brother in law has destroyed 23 nests in their area I have never seen anything like it.

Hanging rock winery is right next door, they have lost a lot of Pino but only small damage to other varieties.

It is hard to believe but they suck the juice right out the grape.

Leaves the empty skins in bunches on the vine.

Thanks for the news OD will share with the NE vignerons I know.

There are some winemakers here with close contacts in other areas so it will be an interesting comparison point.

I hope the little bast ards don't like shiraz!!

Cold weather today would have done a lot of them in Bbo.

Cold weather is their Achilles heel.

Too soon to start talking Premiership OD?

This is potentially national emergency stuff for heavens sake! Dpositive get onto Brown Brothers and Gapstead pronto!

These bloody imported wasps! All our best produce goes to the overseas market. The Mad Monk should get on top of it now! It's a disgrace. Pass me another single malt please lass......

Blddy Euro wasps. I might have to switch over to boutique beers. The Byron Brewery does a nice tasting platter of 6 for $18.

Hope the German wasps among them don't start going after hops as well.

They must come from Mediterrean regions them. Likely the Mafia is behind it all.

Achilles heel? They must be Greek. Never trust the Greeks.

Sorry Daisy and Biff. Looks like the blue rinse brigade has lost the club to an entirely new demographic. All we can do is sit back and wince or hope that we continue to win and that will scare them off. (For the record, I like Chet Faker's music).
Hipsters begin to embrace contact sport

Col, i'd be in favour of bringing back the death penalty

just temporarily, just long enough to rid the country of hipsters

  • PREGAME: Rd 18 vs North Melbourne

After four weeks on the road the Demons make their long awaited return to the MCG next Sunday to play in a classic late season dead rubber against the North Melbourne Kangaroos. Who comes in and who comes out?

  • POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs Adelaide

The Demons were wasteful early before putting the foot down early in the 2nd quarter but they chased tail for the remainder of the match. They could not get their first use of the footy after half time and when they did poor skills, execution and decision making let them down.

  • WHAT’S NEXT? by The Oracle

What’s next for a beleagured Melbourne Football Club down in form and confidence, facing  intense criticism and disapproval over some underwhelming recent performances and in the midst of a four game losing streak? Why, it’s Adelaide which boasts the best percentage in the AFL and has won six of its last seven games. The Crows are hot and not only that, the game is at the Adelaide Oval; yet another away fixture and the third in a row at a venue outside of Victoria. One of the problems the Demons have these days is that they rarely have the luxury of true home ground advantage, something they have enjoyed just once since mid April.
