The Ugly

This game not being on a major radio or TV station

Green was very good today. Kicked 5 and backed into packs a la 2010.

Was about to say the same thing... he was anything but a downhill skier today - very very poor call, that one.

I'm more of the point that he's the one that is always in our best in our wins and in our worst in our losses.

The Good D.Nicholson outstanding

The game was on three radio stations

One of which was 6PR in Perth. Both AW and MMM covering the Eddyhad game...

I'm more of the point that he's the one that is always in our best in our wins and in our worst in our losses.

tend to agree with this

Yes this is correct...i expect a captains game next week. We can beat the tigers.

Terrible calls in bold. Our second quarter we were outscored by 1 goal. There's no shame in that. Green was really good and is working his way out of a monumental form slump, and Jurrah had some of the worst delivery I've ever seen on an AFL field, as well as terrible luck with the bounce at times.

For me:

The Good

The Ruck duo none of us saw coming.

Dan Nicholson

Watts' best ever haul

Green fighting back

Howe

Rednut!

The Bad

Freo

The crowd

Marking on Johnston during the second term

The Ugly

Our apparent inability to pass properly to a leading forward.

The Carlton supporters on the train on the way up.

We can't beat the Tigers.....they are harder, and our inability to move the ball efficiently forward out of our 50 against any of the sides perceived to be at our level, or above us, is a killer. They will apply a lot of pressure and muscle in the middle and in our back half, and we will [censored] ourselves again, providing a bevy of turnovers. I wish it were otherwise, but today's game was a doddle against a team with 4 of their best 5 out, then losing their in form forward before the game, then left with a 2 man bench after halftime. Today was the very definition of an easy kill, and sadly I think it does nothing but give us a false sense of our own form................then again, anything can happen, but it would be a major upset, for mine.

The Good : Further great signs from Watts, Martin, Howe (he's the dog's nuts, this boy), Maximus Gawn, and Dan Nicholson

The Bad : That this game tells us close to nothing, and Clint Bartram.

The Ugly : The endless repetition on 774 of how sad it is that Freo haven't got Sandilands et al, and the once or twice Jamar cracked a mention. Not ONE word about Grimes, Davey, or Tapscott however. Just proves that the media are happy to be selective apologists.

RM I think you are being a bit hard on "marking on Johnston"

in that second quarter he got one from a suspect free kick and another from an out of bounce on the full.

I thought he had all the luck go his way.

Agree with you on the ruckman.

If Jamar, Spencer and Fitzpatrick had not gone down on the one day we may never have seen both these guys play together.

In fact I wonder if Gawn would have played this year.

As for Carlton their day is August 6th.!!

Green down hill skier today: are you on drugs???

Look up at my earlier comments in the thread: he is always among our best when we play well, but when we play poorly he is consistently among our worst.

Bartram's kicking doesn't seem to be improving. To be honest he stuck out like a sore thumb today. Love the effort he puts in every week but his role in a future premiership side I am not so sure about.

"When a rocket reaches the moon, the rocket always has had very few technical difficulties. But when the mission messes up, the rocket almost always has had some trouble. Therefore, the rocket is a down-hill skiier." Failed logic, right there.

People say similar things about Brent Moloney's game, but honestly the only Melbourne player who's consistently good even when the team sucks is Colin Sylvia, who I'm sure we all know has some serious talent and ball-winning ability.

You have already seen next weeks game via a crystal ball have you?

The Tigers are Beatable, as are the Demons. I expect a close one.

He.s not Pat Malone there.

Perhaps if he played Forward more often, instead of being used to fill the gaping holes you would have a different opinion.

Of course we can beat the Tigers. They're the Tigers ffs.

anyone that doesnt think we can snuff those moccassin wearin, mullett pullin, 3 sleeper pearced sack of tigger [censored] that they are then you should go back to listening to cold chisel... if we dont do a number on Richmond next week then that is season over, and we will. I dont live in la la land, but anyone who thinks Richmond has made head roads against our bottomless pit of talent then you should go to P unt Rd after the game and catch up with those ferril wankas that they are.

A chill pill is all I need for the come down of a romping win. Freo arent that bad a side.

The Good

Howe, the kids gooood

A 177 point turnaround on last week

Getting our percentage back

Jordie Tackles and tackles

Jack Killa Watts

Dan Nico and big Max

Finishing the Game OFF!

Having the biggest winning margin of the round

The Bad

Bartrums kicking at times

Jurrah not kicking 8

The disposal in Jurrahs direction

The Ugly

Garland going down

Petterd being reported

The Ugly Collingwood supporter in the country pub enquiring.. IS THAT MELBOURNES SCORE???

He then informed me his side had a bye.

It's an opinion.....as the end of the paragraph would suggest. Go easy friend. B)
