Wasn't it the current board that extended his contract?

Right, and as you can't sack an old board that is good enough to sack the current board. But do it now. Don't wait till the end of the season.

Anyone know what's Joe doing these days?

I want to sack, in order:

- The government of Indonesia

- The department of Immigration (in its entirety)

- Everyone who works at McDonalds

- The crew of the HMAS Collins

- The airport terminal staff for Virgin Blue

All have contributed to this failure! :D

And while you are at it, get rid of all those efing interstate clubs and bringback the real VFL

.......and get rid of the Fat Controller and ArchPrick Anderson too

Add Tinney to this list (slap him first, then sack him)

Many of us were praising the decision to make Green captain last year, I was one of them, and I'm not going to say it was a mistake. But he does seem to be struggling with how to play under the banner of "captain". Is it just me though, or is he being played completely differently to last year, i mean i get that our midfield stocks are taking a big hit at the moment but the way he got the nod was by playing as a forward, why change that?

On Bailey, I see very little point in sacking him at this time of year, it would only destabilise the club and serve as a distraction to the players. I think the next few weeks will be an incredible challenge for him and a real chance to prove to himself and the football world that he's not just a development coach. Good coaches can coach great players, but great coaches can make average players play above themselves.

I have heard various new captains over the years talk about their first year in charge and how it can be hard.

Their focus shifts from getting themselves set for a good game, and instead they focus on getting all their teammates up.

Often it takes a while to realise that they were made captain because of the things they were doing before they were made captain.

Not sure if that is his problem or not.

There's also the fact our team is weaker this year by virtue of injuries and retirements, hurting the team's, and in turn his, performance.

it's the wacky sarcastic one-liners that are doing it for me

nobody told me Seinfeld uses demonland

My name is Jerry..

But seriously this point has been made in the numerous posts proceeding it re Bailey's coaching and Green's leadership. And I actually agree that both should go (from their current positions), it just didn't need to be said again.

Is it just me who thinks that earlier in the season he was playing forward and could not get into the game?

I'm pretty certain that MFC's recent poor form can be tracked to the covert operations of a secret cell within the CIA. Similar to the one in the Bourne series of movies. They have also been responsible Billy Brownless's mysterious hair.

    GOLDIE'S METTLE by Meggs

On a perfect night for football at the home of the Redlegs, Norwood Oval, it was the visiting underdogs Melbourne who led all night and hung on to prevail in a 2-point nail-biter. In the previous round St Kilda had made it a tough physical game to help restrict Adelaide from scoring and so Mick Stinear set a similar strategy for his team. To win it would require every player to do their bit on the field plus a little bit of luck.  Fifty game milestoner Sinead Goldrick epitomised

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play
