Replicate it.

Cue: Caroline Wilson, Mark Robinson and Demonland torch bearers....cue: serious hit out at Gosch's paddock....

It shouldn't take a media frenzy and a severe backlash from supporters to get the player's (and coaches for that matter) attitude, application and preparation to a high standard for game day. (Note: Not dismissing they recognised themselves the previous week was poor; disgraceful)

Let's see if a similar output can be created with the players receiving pats on the back and the spotlight off them for this week for the game against North.

Well played, but back it up again and again.

Totally agree. But now they have to produce it against teams (like North & St Kilda) that won't let them play however they want.

Not to be a negaitve nanny but that is the litmus test for mine, we have a number of players who fly when things are going well and fail when the heat is on. I have no doubt that when we are put under pressure again we will fail badly again this season. I hope to see that we are learning something from those games and getting a little bit stronger every time.

would that be the St.Kilda who got done, last week, by the side we just flogged by 96?

No, it'll be the St Kilda who play us, which will be nothing like the St. Kilda who got done ... etc.

And then Essendon & Carlton ...

Got big games all the way to the bye at rd16 .

The Tigers would especially love a crack at us right now but will have to wait .

Dear Tonya Harding,

Brent Harvey.

Thanks again,

Geddy Lee.

Very good.

Good OP HT. Another article by Martin Flanagan would be nice also. A great piece on Saturday and saw him at the game yesterday. Thanked him for his great insights into the Dees while we lined up for a Carlton Draught.

EDIT: There was no line unless one person in front of me constitutes a line?

Maybe it wasn't just the media frenzy - Interview with Colin Garland

See the photo in that article ? That's Tapscott, not Garland as pointed out below the image.

To be fair I didn't say it was "just" the media frenzy. Sometimes when the heat is turned up though, the club looks outside the square for initiatives such as the Robbie Kearns talk to get a different angle or viewpoint to emphasise certain things and instil a new focus and determination as a collective group.

Nevertheless it's good to see them being pro-active and utilising all the resources at their disposal at AAMI Park. It doesn't hurt to have some successful people within their respective sports give a bit of advice. Hopefully being in that environment or that AAMI Park "bubble", rubs off on our club.

Didn't even look at the photo to tell the truth... regardless of who is in the pic and regardless of the caption being incorrect, the article cites Garland.

And yes, it is great to see the club being pro-active. Footy is in large part a confidence game, and I would think the players will be coming of the back of that game against a team that were being touted as finals contenders earlier in the year, feeling that can now compete against the best as long as they go in with the same intensity. Wonderful what a little bit of self belief will do :-)

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
