Do you think he was telling them to tackle last season but told them to stop doing it this season?

I honestly think he has lost the respect of the group. That's it. For whatever reason many of the players are just not listening to him. Tough cookies for him even if it isn't his fault because the buck stops with him. Either he gets them to listen fast or he makes way for someone who can.

Losing I can cope with but not that gutlessness. If a coach can't get the players to want to die for the jumper then he is not a coaches [censored] no matter how good he is at theory and powerpoints.

The problem with Lyon on that show is he often shoots down any worthwhile conversation they might have on us .

Couple of weeks ago Carro bought up the possibility of Malthouse coming to Melbourne .

"I wouldn't think theyed be looking at changing the coach just now." dismissed Lyon , and quickly onto the next subject .

Tho' he might deny it , he's up to his neck in this club .

Half his best mates are running the joint , asif he doesn't have an imput .

CAPTAIN Brad Green says criticism of coach Dean Bailey since last round’s loss to West Coast Eagles is “totally unfair”.

Speaking at AAMI Park on Monday, Green said Bailey has the full support of the players, and they want him at the helm.

“We love Dean and we love Dean being our coach and we’ve got no doubt that Dean will be here in the future,” he said.

Respect has nothing to do with the performance we put out there on Thursday.

If anything, it just makes you sound like you are at a loss to explain why it happened, so you are doing the easy thing - blaming the coach.

It's obvious why it happened to me.. we sent out a very small side to play a very big side who are a year and a half furhter advanced than us and huge. Our kids were intimidated from the first bounce. A selection delemma...

This is what undermined Matthew Knights, who got the side into the finals the year before. The young board wanted Hird, and the old board wanted to honour the existing arrangements and the good work by Knights. He got them into Finals.

Then comes the derision after he makes the tough calls to finish Lloyd and Lucas. Didn't go down well with some, including the departed players. Sacked by an outsider.

They had to make Knights look like an ameteur, so the players became angry and unfocused. This is so easy to manufacture by influential people badmouthing the ex richmond boy. The team floundered and then 2/3rds through they sacked his supportive assistants effective immediately, to undermine him further?, and to slide to a very good pick. It worked to perfection, but they sold they're soul.. they damaged a coach, another club, and its supporters, 3 times over, and they tread on the former Board members.

As soon as the old guard was disolved from management, the plans hatched and set, to place the Broker and the Bomb'r, became reality. I don't think they needed to be so dishonest and scheming, hast may be needed, but dishonesty not. Play your cards close, but don't damage people as you make your future plans. Treat them with the dignity, they and all of us deserve.

If we must make change thats fine, but do it with integrity!

I was amazed when I heard Malthouse say that. I thought he's tyrying to drive a wedge from his contract.

But to where, the Blues or who? The tigers fighting fund? Here? The Saints may want change in 6 weeks! There's possibly 3 mentors going..., In my order, 1/ Roos, 2/ Malthouse, 3/ Laidley... *** and poss' Matthews if he wanted. Name your price.

The other club is the Hawks. A change of the guard maybe there.

As far as we're concerned, Most of these guys probably wouldn't want to do it all themselves. IMO Matthews, if avail, certainly Malthouse, and IMO Roos, would all want a 'Bomba type' mentoring role. Laidley isn't reguarded as a ,front man', Coach for the TV.

IMO Malthouse has 3 Yrs as a head coach, or longer as a mentor. Roos, I feel likes to teach the teacher. Matthews, IMO is a hands on control freak. Laidley would be good in the coaches box upstairs.

Gary Lyon putting the heat on Morton, Jones, Sylvia (and one other, can't remember) for tweeting about the game. That now that they had put it out there that they need to back up the talk.

GL doesnt believe that Bailey is under pressure because it is too early.That he has a little bit of time to get the job done.

He felt that the 1st quarter last week was the worst he has seen for the year. (Not sure whether he meant for us or all games)

Caro believes that Bailey has handled himself well in the media over the last three and a bit years. She was complimentary about what the Club has achieved off the field but team performance letting everyone down (She didn't mention the draft once - for a change)

Caro doesnt believe that the Facebook group who are calling for Bailings sacking should be given any exposure. She called them idiots. (It was bought up by Hutchinson)

Thomas felt that the team would have criteria to meet and that Bailey would be measured against how well those criteria were met. For Bailey to be reappointed th Club needs 8-10 wins. That we are a young side that will continue to develop. Bailey is a good developmental coach but he is not sure that he is the right leader for the football club.

I liked GL getting stuck into Hutchy and called him a muckraker and it looked like it was getting ugly until Caroline stepped in.

Gary didnt seem to like Hutchy's inference that Jim wasn't well enough for the interview. That he didnt sound well eonough but was unsure if he was just low after the teams performance.

There is obviously still support for Bailey from the inner sanctum at Melbourne going by Gary's comments. Not sure about a supposed split but who would know unless you were from within that group. If the team played again like last week I am not sure if Gary's support for Bailey would be so forthcoming.

I wonder if there was a change of attitude at board level from last week, to todays Board meeting. I wonder if there was a Big name out there last week, who isn't out there this week? Somethings changed from the stony faced silence last week or 2, to now being supportive?

Heh! I'm still ahead of her because I have called her much, much worse. I don't even think I've ever been so kind as to call that ugly hag something as mild as an idiot.

It's also nice to see that she believes that only the media have the right to propose and dispose. Us poor peons should wait to be told by her what we think, shouldn't we?
