The first two steps a player takes when they have the ball or when going for the ball are the most important. Melbourne players do not understand this.

Acceleration or lack there of is what is holding players like Watts and Trengove back from improving their game.

He's a defender yet every single time he tries to mark. Even 5 m out in their goal square. He needs to learn that punching is also a win and certainly better than dropping a mark in Banfields awaiting hands.
