As some of you are aware Demonland had a catastrophic failure of it's members database and all member profiles were removed. We were able to semi restore the member database but whilst it retained all previous posts up to today's date it did not link those posts to your usernames. In addition all PMs, avatars and some other info was lost and was irretrievable. Our only alternative to get the site back to the way it was was to revert to a previous backup which was unfortunately 2 weeks ago. If the latest backup had been last night then this wouldn't be an issue. Long story short this was the best way we could get all your post history, profiles, PMs and avatar all together as it was. Going forward on the new server there will of course be more regular backups but as we have been on a temporary server that hasn't been able to cope these necessary backups were not done.

I apologise for any inconvenience caused. The last 2 weeks has been erased. There is nothing we can do about that now and if anyone wants to have a bitch about it your profile can easily be erased like the last 2 weeks :) . Anyone who registered in the 2 weeks will have to register again. At least this didn't happen during the year.

Mr. "Demonland,"

Thanks for all the great work you have done, are going and will do in keeping this site going.

It's a fabulous place for us Demons tragics to come and I think that it has definietely enabled people to connect (and re-connect) with this club, to feel re-acquainted, acquainted and closer to the mighty Red and Blue.

It has done some amazing things and I think it will continue to, so thanks again.

No worries guys... thanks for all your efforts.

It sounds like you've done well to recapture what you did. Maybe a little good fortune as well, to lose the lot?

Thanks anyway for it all.

What are you putting into the address bar? This has never happened to me on Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Google Chrome or the iPhone or on many computers and different ISPs.

I am still getting error messages when I try to log on no matter which browser I use. It takes about a dozen or more attempts before I can actually get to see the home page

He's suspended?! This place lacks a certain something without him. That's a shame!

Wonder who he upset hahah.

Anyone else having troubles getting into Demonland through Firefox? Explorer runs fine, I still get the error msg with Firefox.

Try it now and let me know how it goes. I've repaired the database and that appears to have fixed the problem. The thing is I did that earlier today and it was only a temp fix and then reverted back. I need feedback from users so I can know when there is a problem.

Wow! Sounds like the database got torn right off the bone.

This is actually a separate issue to our original database issue. I believe this has something to do with the new server.

Well lets hope it settles down soon and you can have a sleep-in! You've had a tough time (been there), so thanks from all.

Losing a few days of posts in the off season is probably a good thing. Maybe we can make it an annual off-season thing. Sort of a purgative. ;)

tell me about it.

It all started a few weeks ago when our host company's servers were hacked affecting Demonland. This was easily resolved by reverting to the nightly backup and only a few hours in the middle of the night were lost.

As a result we were moved to a temporary server, whilst waiting for the brand new server, which couldn't handle the load that Demonland was putting on it and as a result page loads were slow or non existent.

Then we had the issue with the member Database being corrupted and because regular backups weren't being done while on the temp server we had to roll back two weeks.

We then moved to the new server which is causing a whole lot of other head aches. These problems will of course be resolved in the coming weeks and things should be smooth sailing from then.
