start voting [censored]!!

Poll is closed.

But seriously, what a disgrace. Equivalent BF poll had it 65/35 Jurrah's way with 500 +votes. AFL has their ridiculous register to vote system and susceptibility to putting in multiple votes...Not saying BF is perfect, but very few would go to the trouble of making multiple BF accounts for the sake of a poll.

So what's the deal with Robert Walls announcing Mark of the Week every Monday on One Week at a Time? Gave it to Jurrah last week? Is it unofficial and has nothing to do with the actual MOTY?

thats just his nomination

thats just his nomination

So is it decided by the 'popular' vote (distorted by several factors) or by a panel of 'experts'?

I think my poll's a good source. :P

Herald Sun had it 65/35 as well, and I think SEN had a poll which favoured Jurrah more.

It is actually Robert Walls selection that gets considered at the end of the year. If the voters select a different mark to Robert Walls then that one MAY be considered. Here is the link to how it works.Mark of the Year.

The winner gets Free petrol - NOT a car or T.V. If Wallsy selected Liam.s mark - he is in with a chance.

100% correct. The public only vote basically for a chance to win a prize each week. And if it does come up they select a different mark to Walls, then that gets included too.

I can't say I care. As far as I am concerned it was just a warm up for the stuff we will see over the next couple of years.

Exactly.

Just a regulation mark for LJ.

I have little doubt he'll end up taking some of the best marks and kicking some of the best goals we've ever seen. How was his pass to Brad Green yesterday which flew between 3 North players and onto Green's chest!

Yes, Robert Walls selects a mark from the 3 nominated. That is then included in the final contenders.

If the public vote for a different mark, that mark is included as well as Robert Walls selection.

The Hun amongst others had Jurrah has the winner, so I find it a bit strange that Goddard was favoured. In any case a good result both are there as they were both great grabs.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
