One Major!

It's funny how one goal can make a difference.

Lets say Petterd took that mark in RD 2 in that 1 pt loss to Collingwood, or the umpires had not of worn pink in that 4 pt loss to the Dogs. Then there's the draw to the Pies RD 12. And if Watts or Dunn kicked straight against Freo in those dying minutes.

All of a sudden we are 9 wins and in the top eight (beating top 4 teams). I take back my earlier statement that we have not improved this year.

Cant wait for next year. We have to have a solid injury free pre-season and it's game on!

For the rest of the 2010 season. Please give us better starts to gain at least 3 wins!

Go Dees 2011.

6 games left. 4 at the MCG and two trips to play current bottom 4 sides.

If we win 3 or more games then we can start with the could of should of would of. But for now I think we just have to look at it as a year where we still have massive deficiencies but are also starting to build something.

If you are going to get into 'what if's' did you include the what if's of the opposition easy misses.

I assume you're referring to the draw where Collingwood kicked 9.22. We pushed them wide to the boundary.

Let's say Heath Shaw was penalised for HTB in our 50 in Round 2, the umpires paid Green's goal in Round 7 and Travis Cloke was penalised for HTB in our 50 in Round 12. That's at least 6 points for the first two games (depending on a goal or behind for the first one). Maybe four more if we had capitalised on that Cloke tackle. Maybe another four if the Dockers were penalised for faking from what I heard. And another four if we didn't lose to West Coast, or the Kangaroos.

All the what ifs doesn't change anything.

Nothing against you particularly, d me...

But F%#K me I'm sick of these stupid threads/posts!

We lost those games. We didn't win. There IS no "if we only..."

EVERY team has a few close ones. You don't play 22 games in a year, have maybe 6-8 of them be close ones, and WIN EVERY ONE!

You always break even, or maybe get a bit a head, or a bit behind. This year we've had Pies X2, Port, Dogs, The Freo one... and you could argue the win against the Crows was only in the last 10 minutes or so. Out of 5 games, we won 1, drew another and lost 3. That's not outrageous.

Furthermore, even if we DID get up in all 5 (6), we would be hearing the OPPOSITE of this. That as good as the dees are, we won 5 of our games by less than a kick!

We lost those games. MAYBE we didn't deserve to lose them, but we NEVER deserved to win them. If we did, we'd be on 9-7...

What I want to see is for us to be a 5-goal-a-week better side. That way we win these ones, and start pushing the teams like the Blues and Roos harder.

I don't mind winning games against top sides by a kick or less it's when we beat sides below us by less than a kick I worry. I also worry when we get so close but just can't close the deal; we just couldn't get in front today and who knows what would have happened if we did. There may be some sort of mental barrier there but we should have beaten either Collingwood or the Bulldogs in one of the games, we just seem to lack that mental toughness to win the close ones.

Two games to come will show how well the team has improved this season, Rd 20 V Hawks and Rd 22 Vs North. Gotta show we are gaining on those teams that flogged us earlier in the year...

Exactly! Hawks and Roos we need to stand up. They dominate us! Both at the G so no excuses.

Thank you Dappa Dan you have hit it for me.

There is only one thing that matters " winning"

All the rest is just prattle.

We have 5.5 wins from 16 games that is our postion no more no less.

Just not good enough!

This time next year it needs to be 10 wins from 16.

And if that Port player hadn't have stepped over the line, we could have been on equal points with the teams 12-15 with 4 wins and 2 draws (we'd still be 11th)!

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    POSTGAME: Rd 13 vs Collingwood

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again faced with a classic 8 point game against a traditional rival on King's Birthday at the MCG. A famous victory will see them reclaim a place in the Top 8 whereas a loss will be another blow for their finals credentials.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
