Why, when we are right in the game at 3 quarter time and looking ok, with a telepathic link between our ruckman and ruck rover, play him in the goal square? 5 minutes and 5 seconds he went into the ruck. 2 goals 2 behinds and the game is gone. I'm losing it with the coach, i really am

Dude, we we played st kilda's brand of footy for three quarters and stayed with them. We needed to roll the dice in the last. We didnt have the personell.

I actually thought on the whole the coaches and players had a good game today.

Telepathic link?

You think we just chuck Jamar and Moloney in the middle and it's a fait accompli?

What happened for the rest of the game when they were both in there?

Jamar needs a rest sometimes and Spencer can't compete outside of a ruck duel.

We didn't have a consistent forward target all day, but were still hanging around. We had to try something different to kick some goals, and IMO Jamar was definitely worth a punt. OK, it didn't come off, but the Russian can't ruck all day anyway ...... and if Bails hadn't tried it, plenty like you would have been accusing him of lack of flexibility and imagination in his coaching.

Why don't we get inside 50 enough?

I reckon it's we don't have confidence in anyone in particular enough and loose more confidence taking it through the middle as the game goes on. Seem to fall around far too often around half forward.

Jurrah needs to return. Watts is starting to do some better things. Dunn working hard. Bennell was fairly decent for the opportunities he had, he would've kicked 5 if he had the supply Milne has.

Feel we let ourselves down with disposal around the half forward line in particular.

Reckon the backline do a fairly decent job each week considering the amount of ball they see. The midfield is getting there, Trengove was fantastic today, need a few more that can find the ball as well as he can as well as the sheperds, blocks and smothers he puts on. He is a star Trengove!

Overall thought we pushed fairly well today, started better which was nice. I was a little surprised we didn't run the game out a bit better but were probably just worn down by that game style which we played head on.

Maybe, just maybe the coaching staff believed that The Russian needed a little more of a rest as he was nackered. Playing Russian in the ruck for the first 5 mins is not the reason why we lost.

The reason why we didnt get it into our F50 today was a couple of factors; i) Bate was well held today, ii) We need to get our F50 players more settled and have our best players in there.

I would like to see the following;

HF: Davey/Col (they can change on the wing), Bate, Watts

F: Bennell, Green, LJ

I thought Watto played pretty well tonight. Took some nice strong marks & kicked a couple of goals that will give him a huge amount of confidence.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
