I really like JoelMac.

He is a strong bodied competitor and rarely gets beaten in one on one situations.

Just because he played bad against North Melbourne doesn't mean he is a dud or list clogger, if it is then we had 22 list cloggers that day.

While he was delisted by the Lions and didn't play in the finals, he still played round 1 through to round 22 in a side that made the finals.

So to think he shouldn't get a game with us who despite improvement and early wins are not a top 8 side, is just ludicrous.

On a slightly different not, did anyone else have their heart in their mouth when Joel juggled the mark in the last 2 mins of the Port match?? He looks so lacksadaisical and didn't have his eyes on the ball. I was sure he was going to drop it........but then he held it.

Yes.

And, since it came at the tail end of a spate of fumbles, missed targets, drops, bungles and general stuff-ups under pressure, as he casually juggle the ball I screamed at the TV "Just grab the f***in' thing!!"

Filler til other kids develop.

Once they do, he is a list clogger.

how many player should we have on the list, about 26 because the rest are list cloggers, we got mecca for nothing he is a depth player, as is about 15 players on the list, there are over 40 players on the list, in the senior list and rookie list, not everyone on the list is a great player, macca has played good games at Brisbane, but he was just filling a space on there list,i think he has played a few good games, but i have not seen him play any good ones for the dees, every year clubs must turn over 3 players on there list, minn, that can be from both list, it was time for macca to make away, it was his turn at the bears, and yes i will not call them the lions, because the lions part from Fitzroy is just lip service, but i digress, back to macca, there is no such thing as a list clogger, and the word should never be used again, depth player is the word, and you need depth players, over the next three to four season, the dees will only delist there min of 3 player, after this year two will be gone from the rookie list, newton, and meeson, there is going to be a ever shot list of young player to pick from over the next two years, i think you will find, that clubs will pick up a few older players that have been in the afl, and sanfl, and wafl, for awhile, there are a lot of gems out there who don't need developing, who can come straight in and be good depth player, and regular players, but i don't know if the recruiter can make a change, and look at older players, i hope they do but most likely they can't change there thinking. I dont think maca will get another contract, after his two years, unless he can stop that panic that he has under pressure, good luck on that one macca, if you have not learnt that one yet a 26 you never will, and that is why VOSS let him go, be thought hell if you have not got that out of your system by now, you never will.

That's why if you're mid-20's or older and not in the best team you're in trouble, particularly in a developing side.

In case no-one else noticed, possibly the longest sentence ever.

But a point well made if hard to read nonetheless.

LOL. I think the full stop and enter keys are missing from his keyboard. That said, I also agree with the sentiment. Joel adds balance, depth and experience.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
