Jack Trengove- "FISTS OF DESTINY!"

Correct me if i'm wrong but not only did he punch through our winning point but he also spoiled Port's last kick into their 50 in the dying seconds. Onya Jack!

Pretty sure that was Grimes running back that got hands to it in the dying seconds.

Wonaeamirri - Run some laps

18 months out of the game... he needs to keep playing footy and he'll get better.

His 60m pass off one step to Miller 20m out from goal was great. Look very rusty though, but should be given a lot of latitude considering the time he's had out.

Wouldn't mind seeing him play 3-4 more games at VFL level, but imo he is in our best 22 and part of our future

Though people will get sucked in by the hype, surely Trengove has overtaken some Nat bloke as favourite for rising star award?!

Only a matter of time until Watts realises he belongs in the AFL, demand the ball, and will determine the result of game/s.

FFS why was a free kick not awarded when he was punched right in front of the umpire?

because his name is not Nick Reiwoldt

Davey - lighting through centre

Was he wearing a Davey Lamp?

Jones is prone to brainfarts, we know that, but he shut down Danyle (rubbish spelling of a name) Pearce, which was enormous in the context of the game. Props to him for a great job.

Garland is going to have some ups and downs, and will no doubt tire as the year goes on, given he didn't do a pre-season. Also, being punched in the stomach twice wouldn't have helped. FFS why was a free kick not awarded when he was punched right in front of the umpire?

I would say that Jones is our most improved player so far this year.

Bartram - limited but tries very hard, handy in the conditions

Bennell - freakish talent

Davey - outstanding

Frawley - pace and strength

Garland - not best game but will improve

Green - classy, effective

Grimes - worked hard

Jamar - mark of the year

Jetta - revelation

Jones - useful grunt

MacDonald - good

McDonald - captain courageous

Miller - see my post "Reality Check", May 16

Moloney - tries hard, a good ordinary footballer

Morton - important link player, smart thinker

Rivers - some good work in the trenches

Scully - continues to impress

Sylvia - play with that level of passion EVERY week

Trengove - a cert. to be the NAB RS of the year

Watts - clean, classy and clever

Wonaeamirri - got through the game - well done

McKenzie - gives it everything

*shakes head*

Rivers by far tonight gave his team the most 1%'s = 11. By far. He didn't give away any free kicks. He contested well in packs. He may have spilled a mark from memory, but he wasn't the only one during the night in Darwin. Hardly "useless".

Some may say he looked slow chasing Hitchcock, but who wouldn't ? FFS.

Rivers: One percenter King.

Agree totally HT. I love watching at ground level, and when I do I'm always really rapped hw Rivers just finds a way to get to contests that other guys never can. His athleticism is very apparent close up

Lets not forget his one handed mark & goal from 50m !!

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
