Fair enough Barry. I could have put that better, apologies if I offended. Simply saying that in his role he is replaceable. He is also not hhe only doctor working at the club. As for my ignorance, I can assure you I know plenty about Andrew Daff and his credentials. Just not worth worrying about really.

I'm sorry barry but you're talking nonsense. Misson is not going to be diagnosing or treating any medical condition. There will be a new doctor, and a very good one, because doctors are queuing up to get a gig as an AFL club doctor. He is no loss whatsoever, and frankly it will be good for the club to get in a young doctor with fresh ideas. Misson would know a lot more than a doctor in terms of appropriate rehab and fitness regimes. As the last poster said, nothing to see here...
  3. That was bloody hilarious. Love how Mick treated the fat sloppy waste of space. Have never come across a genuine journo with a poorer grasp on the English language.
  4. There are two things I like about the appointment now that Ive had time to digest it: 1. We got the guy we wanted. We have appointed our coach before Footscray, Adelaide, St Kilda. Much better than taking whats left after the others have got the best guys 2. He obviously wanted to coach Melbourne - if the runours are right (and frankly who would know) it seems Adelaide were poised to offer him. If he wanted the Adelaide gig he would have been able to go back to them before accepting our offer. Welcome aboard Mark!
  5. Loved the look in his eye when talking about what the players can expect. Hope Cale enjoys his break, coz he's going to get a rude shock when the preseason starts.
  6. For those with an iPhone, just got the SEN app and it's a ripper. Can listen to interviews from earlier. Has their chat with MM from this morning. Fascinating. Said Neeld is no nonsense. Also said his advice to Neeld is to be a control freak for the first 3 to 4 years as a coach. Said he will have a lot of long days and late nights to get it right. Like the sound of that.
  7. And what would you expect him to say? "we were completely blindsided by this and have no idea who we can get to say yes"
  8. Oh FFS! Can anyone tell me anything about him that would make him appealing? has done absolutely nothing and appears permanently punch drunk.
  9. Totally agree. Just when I think this week can't get any worse!! Seems like a bizarre decision by RL if it's true. Surely he was at the top of our list, above MM who I think would struggle without the amazing support structure the Pies have.
  10. GWS sign up a great onfield leader. Have been lucky enough to have the opportunity to see a little of how he operated at MFC, and what a shining example of professionalism he was to some of the prima donnas we have running around. He will be a great coach, teach them how to become proper professionals, and yet again we look like a bunch of incompetent idiots.
  11. It shows that it was done by Roy Morgan research and the sample was 7800 people
  12. Love it, beautifully put. Been a while since I did statistics, so not sure what power such a sample has. Reputable research house though so I wonder. Anyway, even if it's mildly true I was pretty suprised to see just how many St Kilda and WB fans there are compared to us too.
  13. Not sure if people saw this, but I was stunned when I looked at the graph. Puts into perspective the challenges faced by the commercial staff of the club when trying to sell sponsorship. I cant believe that according to this we have less supporters than even North Melbourne! Supporter numbers
  14. Spot on. I get so frustrated at this myth that is perpetuated about all of us driving volvos to the snow, and all being pert of the establishment, and what do we go and do - get a bloke in a friggin velvet suit jacket to stand up and play the trumpet?!!! Riduculous and embarrassing.
  15. Agree with everything you've said. I have been saying this since the start of the year. Essendon's situation hasd given me clarity. Have been behind Bailey until this year. I just cannot see any future with him in charge. My optimism has been building, but I am shattered after the last few weeks. Frankly, I thought we looked sh*thouse against GC too and only won by the margin we did because of 20 minutes of them falling away badly. Only question I have is, can we afford in $$ terms to sack him right now, and does it actually benefit us to sack him now. Better to scheme away in the background like Essendon did I think
  16. This is great stuff. Some of the stuff Cam is doing in making the club accessible to us is really inspiring I reckon. We have gone from nowhere to now leading the AFL in innovation in some ways. I particularly liked where he mentions that Beamer said walking into AAMI Park is like walking into the Australian Institute of Sport. How great is that for the psyche of the players? As Cam said, there can be no more excuses as we have the best now!
  17. Correct, great ground though, and right next to our Football Department. Casey will still be an occasional base only during the season.
  18. I've actually been suggesting just such a change with my mates. The current situation is an absolute disgrace and my blood boils every game of AFL I watch at the moment. The fact that the only player who is actually trying to get the ball can be penalised when he's basically 'framed' by the opposition turns me right off.
  19. I remember him suprisingly well considering he only played 7 games for us! I thought it would have been quite a few more than that
  20. Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but if not, we are officially moving to the new stadium this weekend. The players have been told to clean out their lockers by today, and we are business as usual at AAMI Park from Monday. Very exciting times.
  21. Exactly. I think part of the problem is that they have to work it out amongst themselves before anything happens. Whoever os closest should just get the bloody ball moving!! I've harped on about this before, but I dont think ive ever seen anyone worse at kick ins than us over about 20 years! We have always been terrible at this.
  22. I thought Garland was fantastic. Starting to see some real 'freakish' sort of qualities in him. I though early on some of Flash's disposal was a little iffy, so I'm OK with him missing out.
  23. The definition of LOYALTY. Will never forget '87.
  24. Ah yes, Brisbane. Wouldnt it be great if every opponent played with zero accountability and let us run absolute riot straight up the guts all game. How easy our game would be.
  25. Precisely. We are EXACTLY where I expected we would be at this stage of the year. 13th is about where we are at, and 4 wins to date is an improvement on last year. We can all see it, we just need to be patient. Some of the rubbish that was being bandied about on this forum about a top 4 finish was always fanciful. The teams we've beaten are currently 10th, 11th, 15th and 16th. Build it and they will come...
