Wonna has already played two games for Casey Reserves so he is properly not on the injury list.

I know, I'm just pointing out that he's not there.

Morton test!! That went by so fast!!

Surely a game at Casey first... Mustn't get all excited about him potentially coming straight back in...

Just a smidgeon of a chance...???

I'd expect Cale probably wont play this week but will then have 1 or two outings at Casey. I'm expecting a round 10 return against the Cats at Skilled, the venue where he kicked his first goal!

Out too long not to play a game for Casey you'd think. One match in the seniors for fitness purposes, then straight in the MFC side for mine. Not unlike Garland's path back.

Can't wait to have him back. As you've said, that time has whizzed by fast. Can't believe it's round 7 already.

The usual practice when players have been out for a long time (in Morton's case I'd say it's been 10 or 11 weeks) is to give players a half or three quarters. Cale's a pretty fit person usually so it could be close to the latter but it still could mean that he starts out with the Casey ressies.

He wouldn't have lost much aerobic fitness you wouldn't think, and he isn't coming back from the sort of injury that requires slow progression and extreme precaution like soft tissue or stress fracture, so I would think one week with Casey seniors just to dust off the cobwebs and then straight back into the seniors.

Morton will go to Casey for at least one week, but we could ease him back after just 1 week by playing him forward/bench.

If 1 week is enough he'll come back for the West Coast match. But after that it's the Darwin trip then the Cats in Geelong. The West Coast match could be one he could be eased into.

But the last thing we can afford is to rush him back.

So this post is a little bit all over the place.

Different kind of fitness though. I know when I played footy the first real training session was to get your body used to hits again. It's not all about endurance, it's also limiting the amount of energy you lose when you get smashed to the ground. Being smart about contests. I reckon he'll do a Garland. He'll play his first game at the Scorps... and they'll give him a half or maybe 3 quarters. And after that as soon as he plays a dominant game, in he comes onto a wing.

MFC outs will have something to do with it too. Bail and Jordie still have to come back in.

In other news... I'd love to see a number next to Tapscott's name, instead of "indefinite". I was VERY excited about him early this year. His hardness would be useful in the forward line at the moment.

PS... Perhaps Morton can go into defence, freeing up Grimes to dip into the midfield again? Any takers?

2 weeks for the Scorps for me. There are still a few players banging on that door for a spot. Cale is always the better option, but a few weeks to get his legs back might be the best thing.

Liam Jurrah is sitting on 8 weeks...he's an obvious replacement for pettard...if melb can manage a few wins within this time it will be exciting for the team to have him back. plus it will certainly make the time go by quicker.

Has anyone seen Cale recently? I'm interested to know if he has put on any weight in the last couple of months.

He said at half time on Saturday that he'd have a couple of weeks at Casey and then be back by round 9ish

How impressive was Cale in that interview - he might have some talent as a boundary rider or presenter or something.
