Great to see us get beyond the 20,000 mark but I'm like a few earlier posters that haven't received their "stuff" as yet. I renewed the entire family etc. at the same time, they've all got theirs but mine’s missing.

I signed up in early November and have yet to receive anything.

More importantly, I am extremely proud to announce the arrival of our newest fan and soon to be member. Mini Hell Bent arrived 23/1 11:25 am. His name..........How could I go past Jack! Now, what bloody number do I get for his guernsey??

BTW, does anyone have any idea on deals/packages for baby memberships??

Congrats. The lucky little bugger will get to spend his formative years watching us win flags.

That's Great News, a new Demon & Arsenal Supporter....Sweet :lol:

Article in The Age today (Jan 24) points out how on-field success translates into membership sales but fails to note that right now Melbourne (20,080) has equal numbers to the Bulldogs (20,078) and Geelong (20, 373) and Carlton (20,102).

We are ahead of Brisbane, Port, Richmond, Sydney and the Roos.

We are miles behind Hawthorn and the Woods (about 40,000 each) but it shows our admin is doing a pretty good job in the face of three tough years. Also, congrats to our fans for putting their money where their hearts are (bought four memberships this week meself).

Cheers Rojik and WYL. Yep, he will start going to the footy this year and he will get used to winning very quickly! Hopefully our ``window`` is still open in 10 years time and he can actually remember a flag or 2!!

  • 2 weeks later...

Cats = 24,000

Dogs = 22,00

Dees = 20,800

We have been overtaken....by more clubs.

35,00 looks very optimistic now?

nah, i definitely think 35k is feasible. remember that a large chunk of members don't sign up till family day, or even till the season starts in march.

Is anyone else still waiting on their membership kit?

I signed up early November and have not heard a peep from the club! I`m not complaining, but just want to know if there are others in the same boat?

Asolutley no chance we will make 35k this year.

The membership ladder is pretty much set in stone yearly. Bottom three = Dogs, Dees, Roos.

Is it me or is it strange that the membership figure only grew by around 1000 in the whole January? Perhaps ppl are waiting see what our NAB form is like?

I'd give the club a call - I signed up around the same time and got my pack in the mail mid-Dec.

I did the same and got mine last friday so yours is probably on the way. Funny thing is I joined the whole family on the same day and all the other kits arrived before Christmas.

Strangely enough not everyone lives, breathes, eats and sleeps football. Some have lives outside of the oval realm, go figure huh!!

Budgets are often stretched and priorities juggled. in this light a lot of members wont part with any monies till they have them, especially after xmas and holidays and getting kids back to school etc. So often its not until 3-4 more pays that some folk have the moula to pay for their beloved footy team's membership

I tip 33,666 as this years tally

I'd definately contact the Club. A mate of mine is still waiting, and it seems that his package went astray in the pre Christmas postal strike in Melbourne.

Thanks for the responses guys, I guess a phone call wouldnt go astray! (unlike my membership kit it seems!!)

I don't know if we will struggle to get 35k, I do not think we will get to it, as for numbers at the moment, a lot still get theres on the first match day.

for a bit of fun go watch all the people push and shove to sign up 10 mins before the first game, usually a good abusive argument or two :)

in this day and age yo have to wonder why anyone would do it this way ??? silly to me.

A lot may depend on those first 3-4 games. With momentum comes those still on fences and hiding :lol:

i think we might just crack 35000 though Ive previously thought it would be 33,666. :unsure:

Sure a lot of people wait for those first few rounds to see if it is worth it. Its Crap but that's what they do.

A first up win against the Dawks & 35K is looking achievable.

If after 5 rounds we are 0-5 well then we will struggle to make 30K. Sad but true.

It's on again. What's your prediction. Furthest from the pin buys a Demon's Heartland Membership.

I'm going with 33,897

Ah yes. You're on. :)

You've gone with a very competitive tally. I'll say 32,757.

Some clubs obviously fairing better than others. Is interesting to note the increase of Pups...dont underestimate the pulling power of players. Hall etc. Geez North are struggling but still better than last year, I wonder how that will pan out as they slide ( and they will ).. Richmond look to be in for a filthy year on and OFF the field.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

    A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

    The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

    Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

    Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

    The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

    Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.
