Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Hmmm....doesn't seem to be getting alot of love around here. :P;)

Well without beating around the bush too much....anyone else in love with JG ?

ME!! Just needed the No2 jumper for the finishing touch.

(no disrespect to Jonesy intended)

The No.9 fits like a glove.

He is a gun. He is already in our top half-a-dozen players and has to be the next captain, next year or year after next. Is next year too early? He'll only be 21 at the start of next year. He would be up to it no doubt.

When he gets the ball, he just has vision, poise and seems to find time with the ball like the great players do. I feel as confident when the ball is in his hands as I do when it's in Greeny's or Flash's. In fact he's probably our third best player behind Davey and Green, truth be told. Well Sylvia, Jurrah, maybe Moloney might have something to say about that, but it shows the class of J. Grimes that at 20 and after just 15 games, he's already held in that regard. Bloody champion. He's gonna be our next Todd Viney. Maybe even better.

grimes is playing some unbelievable footy...the kid is a superstar. he killed allan didak last week. he just looks like davey coming out of the backline.

i know i'm jumping the gun in saying this...but many people say he's the next captain in waiting...i would be happy to give macca another year based on his current performance...and if grimes continues his current form you'd have to seriously consider him...if he played every game this year and next...that would make him a 50 gamer....would people be happy to give him captain after playing 50 games and being at the club for 4 years? I would...

Very easy to forget that he is so young, and has only played 15 odd games.

I know there was a push for him to go into the midfield, but I am beginning to think that he plays so well in the backline that moving him would be a mistake.

Jack took a huge hit, front on, during the game but just got up and tackled the player that hit him, I was stunned to see him even get up. He is a very classy player and I haven't seen a better pair of hands in our backline for such a long time, you know when he flies for a mark he will take it. Captain, yes but I wold love to see Brad Green get a couple of years first he leads from the front and is still our best player.

I saw him wear a nasty front on bump which took the wind out of him on the wing - he was all courage - love to watch him coolly regain order on half back and use the ball well

It's going back a while, but I think he's the best player in that position we've had since the sure handed and ultra classy Brett Lovett.

I think he'll end up being an absulte superstar. They should just leave him where he is and not chop and change his position too much.

He has the ability to dominate and control half back for the next 10 years.

Grimes and Davey are our elite players at the moment and would get a game at any tope 4 side in the AFL.

No 9??

JG = Jack Grimes or do you mean Trenners?

I'm confused,I know its late.....

Ha. It was late.

I must of been sharing the love for Trengove too. B)

Obviously, I meant 16 fits like a glove.

He is just ICE under pressure.

He fies under the radar, people are happy about him, satisfied he's on his own way. No help needed to steer his journey.

He plays unassuming, so people treat him the same way. Quite normal really.

Yeah I think this is right. Brad Green's only just turned 29, he has this and two more seasons at his peak for sure, and could play on for a season or two after that (until 32 or 33). Junior Mc has shown that this obsession with thinking that players can't perform once they are past 30 is nonsense. Greeny could seriously play close to 300 games. And it would benefit Grimes not to give him the captaincy until he was 23 or 24 and had 100 games under his belt I think. Changed my tune a little bit, but I think captaining a group of men at 21 or 22 is too young, mid- to late-20s is better. Ah so excited about the future I could crap on about us all day!

4th in the league for bounces.

And even after Moloney bounced it 15 times in the space of 45 metres in the dying seconds yesterday! Moloney's a brilliant bouncer as we saw, but Brent, you are allowed roughly 15 steps, not just three of four!

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
