I wonder why Max Gawn is down as "indefinite" as he suffered his knee injury five weeks into the season last year.

You surely don't take that long to recover from an ACL?

Because he had been placed on the Long Term Injury list to allow for the promotion of rookies... I still think he is a couple of months away from play competitive football, I could only assume that rehab at TAC level isn't as intense as in an AFL club

I was at the game and met Max Gawns parents.

They said he is going well and has been told he can take part in training now, however the club is being cautious with him.

He will be doing more rehab for 4-6 weeks, then taking part in training for 6 weeks or so and should be playing some form of Football by mid to late season.

His parents and Max are both very happy at the club and looking forward to finally playing.

Also, as he is on the Long Term Injury List it is better for the club to say indefinite, to keep their options open.

What about Meeson?, has been out almost a season now

Yeah the Meesen one is a real concern for the boy. All I remember is that it was a stress fracture in the foot after about round 4 last year when he'd just started to play some decent footy. Now on the rookie list he'd want to make it back VERY soon to have any chance of pressing a claim to maintain his spot. I feel sorry for him. He looked to have something early last year. He is a bit maligned by some posters, but we all know ruckmen take a long time to develop. Look at Jamar. He's only just now coming to his best at age 26. Meesen I think would not be much older than 22 or 23. Still young and may still have a bit to offer. Was highly regarded as a junior and taken as a high draft pick, so at some stage he was considered to have the talent. I hope he at least gets another crack.

I don't mind them being cautious and I doubt he does either after the injury setbacks he's had.

Exactly. No need to rush him back.

I'd rather they do the required testing/analysis to make sure that he doesn't have some sort of techinical flaw to his tackle technique so that when he does return to competitive footy he doesn't just re-injure himself.

Thanks for that. It makes perfect sense re: indefinite with the LTI, etc.
