Anyone able to provide a review of the form of some of the Melb boys tonight?

Really keen to hear how Garland, Watts, Maric, Gysberts, Martin, Blease etc fare if they are actually playing...

Aparently, Newton snagged 29 posessions and kicked 4 goals and is in the side for saturday.

How 'bout that?

Let's face it, as much as we've already been driven mad by the tastes of wonder he sometimes deliver and the chewing cardboard at other times, we're all quietly, secretly, happy that he's had a red hot go and is getting a chance.

He is, after all, a Demon, so best of luck to him.

I wasn't there but received the following message:

Sam Blease played 3 quarters & received a cork thigh, Cheney played well, Paul Johnson played OK and Jack Watts didn't play at all.

Happy Easter

Umm, have you been smoking hashish?

Newton won't be playing tonight if he's playing Saturday...

Uhh... no. No hashish here.

I just dropped in a short comment about a player, based on an MFC selection article, which seemed relevant to the thread in terms of both who might be playing and how a player was going.

But yeah, I appreciate your constructive feedback and look forward to further insights.

Yes, but the thread is about what happened in the practise match on Thursday night. You posted about what had happened in the previous practise match on the Saturday. Newton didn't play Thursday night so ....??

Maric - OK Needs to apply self & believe more.

Blease - Quick, nice kick, did I say quick, with a another burst of acceleration as well.

Martin - good with a lot to learn, did some nice things, needs time as a forward to develope.

Cheney - Very good with ball use, good decisions, will turn into a good player as he adjusts to the AFL tempo.

TMac - Smarts, attacking won plenty of the ball & attacked but got sloppy turning the ball over too many times, not normally as erratic, trying to be attacking made some mistakes. Talented.

PJ - Had a good hitout for about 2&half or 3 Qtrs.

Needs miles in legs - 2 - 3 weeks.

No garland

No Watts.

Alls good.

Great ground down there @ twilight atmosphere, for a twilight VFL game.in warm weather.

Hello Mr. Dunbar. Thanks for your report. I just wanted to ask if you watched the game sitting in one of the trees outside the ground and were you disguised as a koala?

While I can't give you the score I can say that Casey won by a few goals. The game was a reasonable hit out for the Casey players with the mood among them a bit sombre because of the viscious attack on their skipper earlier in the week.

The Scorpions face a tough game first up next Saturday night under lights v Geelong. They had a slow start last year and will be keen to win for their skipper.

No, not last week. I was wearing the Goal Post Number last week.

Did you notice me change ends? :)

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
