  1. add Morton to the Ins. Out should be Cheney (horrible game and should never have been selected in first place), MacDonald, Grimes (injured) and one of Jetta or Bennell neither of whom do enough.
  2. Whoever goes out this week is a little stiff but for mine: In: Rivers, Sylvia Out: Newton, McKenzie or Dunn Still very light on for KPF and back up to Jamar who will need support against Lions but not against Tigers.
  3. Go Scorpions. Has to be good for all those young Demons that were running around.
  4. I think we are a real chance to finish top 4 - all we need to do is turn the ladder upside down at the end of the year and we will feature prominently.
  5. I really hope Bate improves from what we have seen this year because so important for MFC success that these type of players get better rather than get worse. At the moment sadly I think there is more bad than good from Bate and I think Miller is better option. Always more than happy to be proven wrong with underperformers.
  6. The club knows its players and rates Garland very highly. The same sort of rating that was given to likes of Mckenzie and Grimes before many others, yours truly included, knew what the fuss was all about. It is for that reason and his form in 2008 that I am eagerly looking forward to Garland's return. Those in the know say he is a walk up start for our best 22.
  7. Bailey talks about getting more competitive and winning more quarters. We've played 8 so far this year. This first two were very forgetful but since then, we've lost 6 quarters to Hawthorn and Collingwood by a total of 1 point. No premiership points mind you but we are heading in right direction. Can't wait to see this side develop when there is real competition for spots when Sylvia, Morton, Garland, Wonaeamirri, Rivers, Jurrah and Watts return. Add emergence of Tapscott, Blease, Gawn, and potentially Martin, Jetta and Maric there is much to be hopeful about.
  8. Bate has unquestionably been our wosrt player over the two matches so far. Error after error from the few times he gets it. I hope it is absence of match fitness and he can find form but Miller would have been far better option today. Sylvia should take his spot next week.
  9. Not a terrible game today as many would have justifiably expected. Warrants another go next week. He is only 22 so there is still faint hope he may become a footballer who can contribute. His efforts in the ruck for someone who hasn't played that position were noteworthy.
  10. Agree. Bate has been our worst player two weeks in a row. Much worse than Miller last week. Just one change for mine. In: Sylvia Out: Bate
  11. Did anyone get a glimpse of Casey tonight? Would love an update if possible?
  12. Good post Roost It. As DB says we have to get games in to our young players. At the moment, none of the following have played more than 14 or so and in some cases none at all; Scully, Trengove, Watts, Blease, Strauss, Gysberts, Tapscot, Jurrah, Fitzpatrick, Gawn, McKenzie, Grimes, Maric etc etc etc. Then there are plenty more who have plenty of time on their side eg. Morton, Jones, Rivers, Bate, Sylvia, Frawley, Garland, Wonaeamirri, Petterd, It will be some time before this bunch will be sufficienctly experienced to challenge for top 8 but that's the reality of where we are at. With our list we should remain optimistic about future but we need far more spirited performances than yesterday which was a complete shemozle. We also need a plan B and C when things don't go our way early. Man on man would be a good start.
  13. Is anyone able to give update on who performed respectfully for Casey yesterday? I thought Casey had the following Demons playing: Maric Cheney Newton Watts Garland Bartram Blease Gysberts Martin Fitzpatick Possibly other too
