Miller plays a different game to all of them apart from perhaps Bate. Robbo and Jamar stayed around the goals. Wonna is a crumber and LJ is just a gifted freak who can do anything. Bate plays up the ground as does Miller and he doesn't kick a lot of goals either. The problem with them is that they are usually kicking the ball to where they should be.

If Miller was playing from the goal square and he had decent delivery he may be able to kick some goals, I don't think he is a great player but he can be handy and can hit the opposition pretty hard. We don't have too many in the side that can do that.

who are you kidding, when Miller has had the ball from 30 - 35 on any angle he struggles big time. had his chances , onto the trade table

Say we lose Miller..

Ideally, Jamar and Martin would rotate thru the ruck and full forward when resting, therefore taking the biggest defender. Add Bate at 192 cms and 90+ kgs and the headache that will be L. Jurrah at CHF and im thinking Watts will prob take the 3rd, maybe 2nd biggest/tallest defender, in a pocket/flank, for a least a season or 2.. (Unless he hits a growth spurt and ups to 200cms ;) )

and personally, i think Garland at 193cms will also be apart of our forward line too, once up to speed again..

Miller has had season after season.. for no result. The 1st to go for me.

Convince him to become a training coach of some sort and find a spot on the fitness team for him if his prep is that good! Same with J-Mac 2011 for his leadership qualities..

Colin Garland

Age: 21yr 4mth Games: 20 Born: April 24, 1988 Height: 191cm Weight: 84kg Position: Defender

IMO he's a swingman at the moment.

I reckon our current young forwards, (& we add another couple of young Keys' to our list 2nd & 3rd or 4th rounds), & we can develope that line over the coming 2 or 3 seasons to hopefully grow into one of the best offences around.

You change your mind quickly. First you wrote that he will be a star, the next post you wrote that he will be a handy player, I'm sure the next post you write will be how useless Miller is like the rest of us.

Miller used to take a lot of marks and if he could convert about a third in to goals he would be a star.

There's nothing like being misquoted.

If Miller was playing from the goal square...

This was what I was hoping might occur in the second half of this year, just to showcase it one way or the other.

Whether it (not happening) was lack of opportunity, lack of timeliness (ala Robbo), or faith - I've no idea.

Or even the presence of one liam jurrah. :)

It's amazing how 2cms is the difference between a KPF and a medium-small with no chance of being a focal point.

Fevola is 191cm.

Such a shame, if only he was 193cm he would be a decent FF.

Thems the traps.

He's a [censored] anyway...

To be a KPF in the AFL, you need to take strong contested marks and have to have the confidence to take a shot at goal from 50 or anywhere inside 50. Not just dish of to someone under pressure, because you might miss.

Millers hasn't got a big enough presence inside the forward 50, opposition teams don't fear coming up againist him.

Millers gone for mine, he had plenty of time to take ownership of the forward line, but hasn't.

One of my best mates went to school with Fev, and said that even at a young age Fev was an absolute nob. Add to that his complete lack of intellect and it's amazing he is smart enough to drive himself to the games.... how was his form on the footy show last night..... lets see... why don't I pick a player who is likely to play on me in big games for the next few years (Zac Dawson) and publicly deride him as being no good on the footy show, thereby giving him extra motivation to prove himself against me... duh.... where's that dildo toy gone.... at least that feels good in my hands...

As an aside to this it is interesting that both Fev and Richo rate Max Hudgton as the best full-back they've played on, yet the Saints can't fit him in to their best 22, does that suggest they don't rate any of the Cat's, Bulldogs', or Pies' key forwards.. (I don't either incidentally)

I doubt this is really an issue -- I'd be more concerned (and i think he would too) about the perceived lack of respect for a peer.

What he said was negligible really in the end, after he tripped over his words to make amends...

It would be nice to get an update from the club.

If he gets a new contract, you'll hear about it. Otherwise, no. There wont be any more de-listings until after trade week, no point in letting someone like Miller go before seeing if he has any value on the trade table.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
