Biggest. [censored]. Ever.

Watching Before the Bounce and I have never seen a cockier, more arrogant, biased host of a television program ever.

Plus, he's ugly.

End rant.

EDIT: Wrong board. Also, useless topic.

I quite like the Chief, and Before The Bounce is right up there with one of the best footy shows on all the stations.

Sorry Jerry, but prior to now I always thought your posts exhibited sound judgement.

Did he say or do anything in particular in tonight's show?

Or do you just think that in general?

Spud Frawley posed the question of whether a woman will ever play in the AFL to the Chief. And after about a minute of stupid circular banter, Frawley had had enough and said that it was Jeff Kennett who brought it up. Finally, Dunstall sheepishly admitted that it was indeed the Hawks president that started it all.

But just in general, he's a jerk. He's got a massive ego and no time for anyone he thinks is below him, which - due to the former - includes just about everyone.

I like before the bounce to, especially Jerrard Waitely, who's on tonight. But I can't stand Jason Dunstall's massive ego and total inability to form an articulate, unbiased opinion on anything.

Jason Dunstall is not really a media commentator? he's on C-grade shows...he has no hair and people only remember his as a champ with hair....

i don't actually know wat shows he does...

Yes, he's a bit of a tool... arrogant, takes a lot of things WAY to seriously...

But he's the best FF I ever saw play the game, and has a WORLD of respect for his on-field exploits... which in turn means he gets away with whatever he wants.

I think its hilarious when he throws fried rice at that c&%t Quartermain and for that reason alone I'm happy he is still around

TOTALLY.

There are antics of former players that I applaud at times. Call me biased, but I love it when Newman gets carried away on the footy show with Hutchy. I think, while it's trashy, the footy show remembers (largely due to Newman) what perspective is all about. Footy has always been a recreation. It's become quite a lucrative one, and there are elements of seriousness involved since it is such a large entity (employment, careers, major injury) but the fact remains, for the vast majority, we get into it as a means of enjoyment. In the middle part of our lives we take it seriously, but it is still, in it's inception, fun.

Newman has made millions from footy, and has maintained the fun aspect... inspired largely by Teddy Whitten, by all accounts. There is a time for seriousness, but it's people like Quarterbrain, McChins and Hutchy, who try to manufacture meaning in footy where there is none, in order to enhance drama, and make themselves seem more necessary.

Lyon played, as did Newman... Those guys know all about the fun aspect, and know when to swear and get serious. When Hutchy comes on and tries to drum up some false rumour he got off some Tiger's person, and Newman tries to highlight how ugly and bald he is... it really serves as a reminder that Hutchy is a parasite, and should count himself lucky that he's even in the media.

The players will ALWAYS be more important than him, even when they're embarrassing old men who've matured disgracefully.

The Chief is a very funny man and a great character, I have no problems whatsoever with the way he goes about things. Always thought he bounces off Spud well also, great chemistry there, other people on the panel not so much. Especially the little dorky fella with glasses and a lisp, surely they could have found someone better?

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
