Scenario - which do you prefer ?

I would have thought that, by now, you two might have the sense to stop using that term, given the team you support.

Carlton did nothing that we haven't done.

I Beg Your Pardon-You obviously know nothing of Carltons History Between 1965-1995.

The Rorted the systems in place at will. I suggest you do a little reading.

So it's okay to bag Carlton for 'rorting the system', when we all advocate trying to lose games instead of trying to win?

It doesn't matter what Carlton did. The fact is, we are rorting the current system by choosing not to win games when we could be.

If we are going to call for the club to lose games to get a PP, we must stop insulting other clubs who did the same.

Stay on topic, if you want to flurry off about Carlton, create a new one.

I would love to falter Carlton's top 4 hopes, don't think it will happen but still it would be great. I just hope we don't beat Freo then Carlton see a chance to wreck our hopes of PP and lose to us.

Carlton Cheated in many ways over decades. They ran their own race & were proud of it.

The Current Priority Pick rules Stand, bought in by the AFL. The MFC is not cheating at all. We have 40 odd players on our list & can pick whom ever we like to take the field, as it stands now we have 26 available players i think.

I am not a great fan of the present PP system but i don't like your inference that our club is cheating. Coz it aint.

I am not saying we or any club is squeaky clean, but cheating it is not.

Don't forget the AFL has been watching our ongoing business plan for a good couple of years very closely.

We are not in the same league as carlton.

My choice ( probably totally unrealistic, but one can dream)- beat St Kilda by 1 point - we would end their winning streak ( if they are still undefeated by then) - but it would give us a great morale boost . AND I HATE ST KILDA !!

Dream on! And why do you hate St Kilda that much? I've always found their supporters suitably humble. They've suffered more than most, and remember we beat them in that heroic final on that Friday in the wet in 2006, losing Grant Thomas his job in the process.

CARLCHEATS without any shadow of doubt. Sweet revenge, of sorts.

I understand where you're coming from. However, the term Carltank is a pretty unambiguous reference to Round 22, 2007. We on Demonland used it to bag them for trying to lose that match to get the PP. I stand by my comment that no pro-tanking/list-management Melbourne supporter should use that term. It stinks of hypocrisy. That's really what I wanted to get at.

All that aside, if we don't beat Fremantle this week there wouldn't be much greater satisfaction than beating Carlton and stuffing up their finals campain. It's bad enough to think that they're actually going to play finals.

Personally, I've come across many arrogant St Kilda supporters, hence why I hated them a few years back, but then they've just been pretenders for the past 5 seasons, so I've softened on them. I'd rather them win it than Collingwood or Geelong though.

Football is a tough game on & off the field.

Back in 2007 i had no problems with Carltons "Tanking" as they were doing it within the Rules.

I was far more disapointed that we let them walk over us in that round 22 match, although i would not be suprised if our caretaker coach of the day Mark Riley had already committed to the Carlton assistant job going forward.

That is what made me feel sick.

If we lose to Freo ( we can then afford to win one more game without losing PP ) would you rather

- a - beat Carlton

- b - beat St Kilda

I think you've forgotten they Shafted us on-field & then hired our Coach of that day.

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak
