this is a synopsis of views that the footy. dept. have on board with a view to achieve the ultimate prize.

from ?(dont want to dob him in)so dont ask!

at one of his meet and greets.with a white board explanation.

for members to understand the thought process with view to patience needed.

That since the draft has been in effect;

1.the average no. of games per player in every successful premiership team has been " 126 games"

2. successful premiership teams players have came from ;approx (forgot exact figure) 60% to 70%"

" 1ST ROUND DRAFT PICKS !!

with the obvious exception of a few freak great players picked up later in draft.

ie; hird , selwood etc.

ipso facto- the rest of teams made up of 30% from later rounds-rookie-trades.etc.

this is a history fact..

NOW knowing this, getting game time into m.f.c. young players is paramount. with the knowledge that it will take till 2012- to 2013 to get the required games into these kids before a hopeful result can be achieved.

he then proceeded to make a positional board, who? we would expect from current and future players.

without going into the possible 22 .by 2013 . as probable suspects of young kids in expected positions is obvious.

garland .bennel.( AUSSIE.W- big opinion of)-bartram -MORTON( who is a picky eater apparently and as such why he is still thin.) mckenzie-strauss -blease-watts-jurrah. etc.

older players not included as unknown if or what circumstances permitting.

and that understanding the possible % error rate of 25%..

The most interesting is the centre position & wing.

Put down as "draft pick no1"? & "draft pick no2 ?"

1st pick is a given as he is considered as another " cj " incarnate..(no matter who has 1st pick he WILL be no.1...incl wa. teams.

my guess for no 2?

no names were mentioned but for what it is worth-my take only.

so for No 2 r we looking at "trengove"(racks up disposals for sturt) or possibly "garry rohan( speed & cooney esque.)" ??? but again nothing was stated..

although morabito came up as possible top pick for wa teams ??

one to ponder and pontificate.with the added comment of a few sleepless nights for c.c.coming up.

prendergast chooses picks and bailey the trades..

each r ready made and "EXPERIANCE " IS INVALUABLE.

take it as u will. !!

my personal thought, that would'nt it be nice to put a couple of "C" TEAMS back amongst the ruck next year !

especially the one with the "messiah" and his disciple. .which is which ??

If this is Solid Fact, then i can Relax a little, & I hope all the persons out there who want to win these last few games-READ THIS CAREFULLY...

Thanks for the Post.

MORTON( who is a picky eater apparently and as such why he is still thin.)

Ohhh... so thats it!

Got to admit, I found this really hard to read.

This is really the only interesting bit. Scully is a lock and you're surmising Trengove or Rohan. Don't discount Morabito, as he's a born wingman.

I found this really difficult to follow...

Its Just Quick Scribbles on a white Board-take it for what it is-a slice of what the Footy Dept maybe thinking. Making Most of us absolutely Redundant!!!

??????

At least Gary Rohan is rated highly.

He would be an excellent second choice, given

that we don't win more than four games.

Star quality.

Saw him at the championships. He finished off a few

tackles like Sylvia does; he meant business.

1st pick is a given as cj incarnate..

Saw this about 2/3rds down. I thought for a time that you meant the OTHER CJ running around for the blues.

Was VERY confused.

Thanks fuscia for the report. Thats how I wanted things to go.

Some very good players still in this years top 20+.

Sure is the interesting bit. Those 4 names mentioned. Would be delighted with two of them, Scully of course being a must.

i did

it is form of comparison to someone u know.( a reference point to his ability and aptitude & lifestyle etc.)

as he is considered up to that standard

Thankyou for sharing that. Appreciated. Especially that allusions that we will go hard for the PP.

Now, about the grammar...

??????

I think you and others are misinterpreting Fuschia. The names Trengove and Rohan weren't referred to by the Demon official, hence Fuschia stating "not named" after his reference to them. It was merely Fuschia surmising that they would be the types to be in the mix.

That said, I understand the confusion.

60% of 22 is 13.

I think Hawthorn had 10 in last year's flag side (incl Croad)

http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/sport/afl...4-19742,00.html

I think we currently have 14 12 on the list (some won't make it) and hopefully 2 more to come this year:

Jones, Watts, McLean, Bate, Frawley, Morton, Sylvia, Dunn, Grimes, Bell, Moloney (first round trade), Meesen (originally 1st rounder), Blease, Strauss.

Made a correction - Blease & Strauss not 1st rounders

Also maybe not fair to count both Moloney and Meesen

you cant count moloney (originally a PSD swapped for a first rounder) and meesen (originally a top 10, swapped for about pick 35)

Hmmm. I'm confused again. Which CJ did you mean?

Chris Johnson or Chris Judd?

I hope it was the latter.

When I said the "other" CJ running around for the blues, I meant Johnson.

Honestly Dan, why the f' would we draft someone with our first pick who resembles Chris Johnson?:blink::huh::lol:

Another thing I took from this is that it's unlikely that we'll see one John Butcher running around on the wing.

Good move IMO to not even consider him for a no.2 pick.

Just did ladder predictor, had us 2nd last with 4 wins, and wce with 4.

So pics 1 and 4 is what we get.

I really want scully and trengove!

Uhh.. that'd leave us with 2 & 4... jesus, this priority pick thing is making us all look like monkeys!

Percentage Enforcer, Percentage.

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?

  • FEATURE: 1925

A hundred years ago today, on 2 May 1925, Melbourne kicked off the new season with a 47 point victory over St Kilda to take top place on the VFL ladder after the opening round of the new season.  Top place was a relatively unknown position for the team then known as the “Fuchsias.” They had finished last in 1923 and rose by only one place in the following year although the final home and away round heralded a promise of things to come when they surprised the eventual premiers Essendon. That victory set the stage for more improvement and it came rapidly. In this series, I will tell the story of how the 1925 season unfolded for the Melbourne Football Club and how it made the VFL finals for the first time in a decade on the way to the ultimate triumph a year later.
