Just saw that. Ouch!

I didn't see it live, and haven't caught it on the replay. It must have been a cracker. Pity for Col given that he's in career-best touch this season.

I can only assume it is the one from the first quarter that resulted in a free from the middle after a goal. If it is that one, it is certainly not worth 3 weeks or anything at all, Selwood didn't even react apart from looking at the umpire for a free.

This is not what he would want personally. Just when things were turning around onfield he's had a hiccup. It may come back to haunt him. (Ie. Leadership group aspirations). I hope he remains out of trouble off the field in the meantime during his suspension stint.

Sylvia, finally doing his bit for the team! :D

Our chances of winning the next three weeks have just reduced by 10%, plus it means we are forced to make at least one change this week, so Watts can play (hopefully).

He's been in very good form this year, and this little bump in the road is just that, a bump. He'll be back in 3 weeks time and now has 3 weeks less in which to get injured.

Yeah it is fantastic our players are getting suspended.......that bad record hangs around for 5 years Jaded, it is not a good thing!

My comment was clearly tongue in cheek!

Of course it's not good that he got suspended, and he was playing with fire on Saturday with his aggression.

But there is one good thing about this (losing games aside), and that is Sylvia now learns that aggression should be expressed at the ball, not the man. He has always been a hot head and this year it will cost him 3 games at the height of his form, and maybe even a B&F trophy.

They just showed the Sylvia one on the news, Selwood was on his knees and was struck by Sylvia as he ran past.

I reckon he was unlucky, you could argue he was attempting to punch the ball and copped his head in the process!

Petterd got a fine for his offence. Shame that Glass got away without a video charge :(

Are you serious????????? Brennan gets 1 week with an early guilty plea for an out and out headbutt and Hi-Ho gets 3 weeks for something not really seen.

You gotta be kidding me.

I wanted Col win the the Bluey and lead our goal kicking.

It would probably do Colin a lot of good to spend a few weeks sitting in the coach's box and learning some of the finer points on the other side of the fence.

You got it wrong 'Kat', thats unfair to Sylvia stating he hit him when down.

I was watching him on replay when I got home from the game, I saw Sylvia running beside Selwood, Selwood had been niggling him & I thought, "No Col", & then Col turned his attention back to Selwood when the camera left them. Play went on & we heard the commentators say the scuffle was on off the play.

Other replays showed the aftermath, when Selwood, hands to his face, going to his knees. Minor contact.

it must have been the angle of the footage shown then, they showed it from when Selwood was already on his knees. And the camera was moving away pretty quickly, so it wasn't a fabulous angle (it was the Channel 10 footage - I'm watching the Channel 7 news now so I'll see it again when the story comes up there). I must admit I didn't see it on the day, I was at the other end of the ground.

Bad news.

This from the article made me laugh a little though.

"Brennan’s original penalty was three matches that could be reduced to two because of his five-year food record."

Wonder is col would have got 2 weeks if he had a five-year food record hehe.

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
