sorry if i seem 'out of it'.. but what did terry do to the dogs?

I hope the Dogs beat them by 100 points

Why would you say that?!

I hope Richmond win, it would hurt them a lot more if they win, than if they lose (and would benefit us greatly!).

Lets hope that the caretaker coach wants to impress and can manufacture some wins for them as well (ala Riley   ).

I severly dislike Wallace

So do I, especially because he is a crap coach that was doing his absolute best to ensure Richmond steal pick 2 off us. Bastard!

I tell you what I dislike even more though, is being genuinely poor for two years but missing out on picks 1 and TWO because some team that has been supposedly rebuilding for 15 years can't get it together. No way!

Honestly, we have nothing to "worry" about. We are that far back it isn't funny, and Richmond will start winning when they get a decent coach (i.e. anyone but Wallace).

I'd love for Wallace's old team, who he walked out on/players kicked him out because he's a rubbish coach, to ruin his farewell.

because he bailed on them with a game to go in the season.. correct?

He resigned with one game left and said he didn't want to coach them next season, even though the club had every intention of him staying. The Bulldogs pretty much said that if he didn't want to be there anymore, they didn't want him to coach again, and so had a caretaker coach for the last round.

And...

'Wallet' was trying to land the job at Sydney. It is believed that he and Sydney had a gentleman's agreement (perhaps with some $ involved - which Bulldog Smorgon believes), that he would be the next Sydney coach. It turned sour when Swans supporters/members led a protest to get Paul Roos as new coach instead. Wallace was out of a job, until the media came to his rescue.

Smorgon, insisted at the time, if he ever found out the truth to this - whilst Wallace was still coach of the Bulldogs - he would threaten legal action. Calabreseboy is right in that he wanted to leave at the end of the season; and he was being dishonest with the Bulldogs; so they let him off the leash so to speak when it got ugly.

thats what i thought

Why ask then?

Correct.

I recall Wallet said at that time that he could not take this side (Bulldogs) any further. This enraged a number of the senior players including Brad Johnson who wanted him out. As Leigh Matthews said its not good practice to be chasing another senior coaching job when you are currently senior coaching another side.

He did not deserve the Sydney job and Richmond have got what they deserved over the past 5 years with Wallet and Miller. Its been a dismal failure and many D'land posters questioned the wisdom of the appointment at the time.

Here's hoping that Richmond return to its winning ways enough to finish 9th miss out on a PP and a well back in the draft offerings. :)

One for the time capsule for my fellow D'landers.

Some incoming mail from those in the know at Tigerland.

Nathan Buckley.

The jobs his - if he wants it.

Fair dinkum, they have more leaks than a sieve if true.

Now Wallace is gone this should set the dominoes going on other coaches out of contract this year.

Collingwood would be waiting to see when MM loses his opportunity to coach finals this year before installing Buckley. I think Eddie already has Buckley locked in.

Woosher and Harvey should also be sweating a bit as well.

Not so sure about Worsfold, but Harvey must surely be under the miroscope by now

Certainly this is going to set the coaching merry go round in motion. A few clubs will be looking at Nathan Buckley, and Richmond's going to have the first opportunity to conduct formal talks with him. If Collingwood's serious about getting him then they're going to have to move quickly.

Worsfold's safe. They love him over there. In a few years West Coast will be back up the ladder. There's quite a bit of talent there, they're just too young to be all that competitive this year.

Harvey, on the other hand, is in some trouble. If they finish bottom 4 again this year (which is likely), I'm not sure if he'll be there next year. Neither will Pavlich, I don't think.

This is pure speculation and very, very hard to believe. "The jobs his - if he wants it."

I know its Richmond ... but not even they would appoint a coach without a formal interview process.

Mate think about it ... your mates "in the know" are dreaming and making up little stories.

This is not to say Buckley is not a candidate, this is not to say Buckley cant get the job ...

... its more a comment about stupid Tiger supporters suggesting their own club would appoint a coach without a formal interview process ... their idiots.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
