Yes, it was one of the ideas created during the SUMMIT a few weeks back. The club has certainly taken the initiative. Well Done.

edit: -$50 isn't much, but it could surely help assist in getting kids involved as we have the lowest junior supporter base in the AFL. I just purchased one...there's 10 kids that will be able to come now and enjoy the experience behind the Cheersquad.

Great initiative and hopefully my $50 will be well enjoyed!!!

out of context: but this pretty much confirms that the demon used in that link will probably eventually be the demon logo, when we are allowed to change it.

-but yes, great initiative

1 $50 donation, could take 10 people to a game, 1 of which might turn out to be a very keen supporter, which is 1 more than we had previously

good work high tower and others who suggested these good ideas at the summit

question: if i have right now $50 that i would like to donate to the club, am i better giving it to debt demolition or to this organisation?

Fantastic idea and initiative to have it up and running already!

People would not realise how big this would be for some children. They barely have enough money for food let alone going to football games at the G. Makes me very very proud of our football club.

My old man joined up with Big Brothers/Big Sisters program where he mentored a little boy from a very sad family background. He had never been to a local footy game let alone the G. The look on his face when we went to the G something I will never forget.

Maybe supporters/cheer squad can also get amongst the kids each week to make them feel even more welcome and part of the club?

Maybe it could be extended a little further and some supporter apparel can be given to them too. A flag or a scarf to take home.

Both would be equally helpful i guess, but i would give it to this.

I have issues with the logo, but other than that this idea is fantastic!

I just purchased 2. I hope they show those kids a fantastic time.

Is Ronald Deeman our kids mascot? haha oh dear.

Another area we need a lot of work. Sounds a bit like Gary Clifford Irons from GC17.

Nugget, I'd give it to this because this is essentially an investment.

Depends what you want I suppose. But the club will not direct funds from Debt Demolition to allow kids to get to the footy, that's up to us supporters to let that happen. Working with kids I can see how amazing an opportunity this would be for many kids that otherwise would not have the chance to get to the footy.

I'd love to run one of the groups to, but that's for another day.

Essentially, this is a way for you to directly give kids a shot at becoming Dees fans for life, Debt Demolition is great but serves a different purpose

Fantastic idea by the club and summit.

Love the logo, its really grown on me.

Sensational idea, and hearty congratulations to the Club for acting so promptly to the Summit initiative. I'll be a contributor.

I just bought 1 Demon Heartland and notice that it said 9 seats not 10. I restarted the process and somehow ended up with 2 packages. One with 9 seats again and one with 10. I removed the 9 seater and proceeded with the 10

Anyway 10 extra kids will get to go to the footy now

9 ?? This doesn't sound right... pretty sure there was only one option

I bought 2 and the first said 12 seats and the second said 13 so I wouldn't take too much notice.

oh yeah, mine was 5 & 6th.

Its not seats though, its the ref no. of the package you bought. Its just ticketek. Similar sort of thing happens referencing seats when you purchase a membership online - except it doesn't give you a number.

You've bought the 9th ... or now the 10th package ( & the 9th has gone back in for someone to buy)

Essentially if we're up to 15 that means 150 kids will go to see MFC next year, which is a good return already.

Thanks for the replies. That makes sense so I went through the process again to test the numbers sold theory and it came up with 15 seats

150 extra kids to the footy is great

I wonder how many kids there are in the Casey school system that would like to go the footy? Would have to be in the thousands. 500 heartlands sold would be a great start. Only 485 or so to go

That should come across well in the Casey local papers and win some support for the club. Melbourne supporters unite to pay for thousands of Casey kids to see the Dees play

Great opportunity for future support

I'll buy at least another before the season starts

Fantastic. There would be alot more of these memberships sold than just here on Demonland. If Melbourne fc members happen to buy approx. 5000 of them...there's approx. up to 50,000 kids. The AFL might have to lock the gates... Could be a sell out at a Melb v Freo game... The kids will be in the long room before we know it.

It really is a great initiative. Well done Mfc.

Yes, a ripping little long-term investment. Just bought one and looking forward to see that space behind the cheer squad filling up in 09 and beyond!
