MELBOURNE v NORTH MELBOURNE

Thanks!

If true, that is woeful.

Just as bad as last year, in terms of sunday games.

I still hold hold hope that we'll get a friday night home game.

Well While every one winges I for one will be attending every game at the G next year it will be my mission to anyway. i will also be at the Gp as you pay to go in and you are allowed to leave why not throw in a game of footy to break things up. I am just a new supporter of the Dee's and I am sorry about my next statement but people here complain so much. If all the effort spent complaining about how hard done by we are was spent on going to games getting new supporters it would be amazing. As I have stated before I am new to supporting the club but I have already got 3 mates from NSW buying memberships for next year.

If that is indeed our home schedule, then I'm happy all of our home games are at the G bar the one we [censored] off to Canberra. I'd imagine Demonland would have gone into meltdown had we been given two or three Telstra Dome home games like we used to cop. I'd take the G at 3am on a Tuesday over Friday night at the Dome.

Good point, i am just more concerned about attendance. But i guess the ball is in the court of the football club here. if we play well people will turn up to watch. Simple.

Doubting Thomas.

Try this on for size - home games:

Round 1 vs. North at G (Sun 1pm);

R5 vs. Crows at G (Sun 4.40pm);

R6 vs. Geelong at G (Sun 2pm);

R8 vs. Dogs at G (Sat 2pm);

R11 vs. Pies at G (Mon 2pm);

R14 vs. Eagles at G (Sat 2pm);

R15 vs. Port at G (Sun 2pm);

R17 vs. Swans at Manuka (Sun 1pm);

R18 vs. Tigers at G (Sun 1pm);

R20 vs. Freo at G (Sun 1pm);

R22 vs. Saints at G (Sun 2pm);

Surely the AFL is smarter than that. Surely they wouldn't schedule 3 games that are almost certain to draw 20,000 or less (I speak of Freo, W.C. and Port). The Adelaide match won't get more than 25,000 either. I don't think I can believe that. I'd say both the AFL and Melbourne would prefer to see us go interstate more if it means less games like these where we don't draw a crowd.

Funny that. Even when Collingwood was woeful a few years ago, it got a decent run with Friday night features the following year.

That would be because Collingwood supporters always go to their matches. Always. They averaged in the 50,000s for home games this year. Even when they suck, they still draw crowds. Melbourne doesn't.

At least no-one can say we're not entitled to massive compensation in the millions for the unfair playing field the AFL presents us with every year.

Watch them say it.

    GAMEDAY: Rd 16 vs Brisbane

    It's Game Day and the Dees are deep in the heart of enemy territory as they take on the Lions in Brisbane under the Friday Night Lights at the Gabba. Will the Demon finally be awakened and the season get back on track or will they meekly be sacrificed like lambs to the slaughter?

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

    They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

    Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

    With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

    GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

    It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.
