Today's the second lot of delistings. If Carroll's still on the list after today, does this mean he's staying?

There is a 3rd list lodgement...

Its after the ND, but precedes the PSD.

Could it be an option.. allbeit cunning! to keep nathan on the list..play him in the two's tell his management that if he steps out of line once then his contract is immediately terminated....... and pray that he messes up and we dont have to pay him??

sounds ridiculous i know but i could see it happening if he did stay!!!

Doesn't matter what we tell his management from now on, it has to be stipulated in the contract & if it was he'd already be long gone.

We can still terminate the contract, but we will have to pay it out in full, or get him to agree to a buy-out.

its not rocket science. or brain surgery.

possibly rocket surgery though.

Even though he is no longer effectively training with or being considered for playing by the Club, Carroll will be on our list and payroll for the rest of 2009 season unless there is a negotiated position between player(and manager) and the Club that is approved and ratified by the AFL.

Its no longer a matter of the Club establishing a breach of contract by Carroll or Carroll stuffing up one more time. For all intensive purposes Carroll is gone from the Club and Carroll is keen to get his AFL career gonig elsewhere and its a matter of tying up the loose ends to achieve this.

Given Carroll's hopes for continuing his career and if he has another Club prepared to nominate him in the PSD there is a real incentive for his management to conclude the MFC negotiations prior to the PSD.

At worst we have dead space on our list for 2009 and we pay out Carroll for 2009 over the course of the year.

If an 'agreement' is made between MFC & Carrol, I'm sure the AFL and the AFLPA will leave their fingerprints all over it, not to mention be breathing down our necks during the entire negotiations.

This has the potential to create a precedent that could affect the entire free agency debate.

If he stays I can guarantee you he'll cop a fine of $5,000.00 every time he farts.

And Warnocks, Judds,....,..., . .

haha  its almost more frustrating than the situation itself!

On another note, I was talking to a bloke a few days ago who is a St. Kilda supporter - as soon as he heard the saints were looking at Carrol he started a petition & an internet campaign for the club to NOT get him - has been interviewed on SEN ad nauseum, etc. - and has just received a letter from the Saints pleading for him to cease & desist as they are quite serious about taking him & don't want bad publicity...

amazing

Why delete the threads about NC and CJ. Surely it's enough that both have been consigned to the history of the club?

True. Keep the threads. :D

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
