40.Mark Jamar [198cm 103kg 08.09.83 - 66 games (21 in 2008) 14 goals (4 in 2008)] – after several years as understudy to Jeff White, Mark Jamar took over the mantle of the club's first ruckman when White fell out of favour with selectors half way through the season and was given a stint at Sandringham.

Jamar's ruckwork was generally good but he doesn’t pick up enough possessions around the ground and must make more of an impact on games in the way he did when he beat Essendon’s David Hille late in the season.

A long time in the making, Jamar could be the best centre circle ruckman we have on our list at the moment. He doesn't seem to have the self-belief to take him to the next level. He sometimes demonstrates a sudden lack of smarts on the field as well. It just may be that he needs to be told he is the man for the whole season before he steps up to the required level, and that is a risk. One can understand why the footy department will be leaving no stone un-turned in pursuit of a better option through the trade and draft options available.

I love Jamar's attitude always giving 100%

BUT

We play a game called football and he has to be the worst kick in AFL history and that includes Dunkley, Kirk and James Manson.

My family and I always yell kick it Jamar when he gets the ball it is a running joke cause as you know he always handballs . When he does kick we all crack up cause he looks so unco it is quite embarrassing for the poor man

Correct. He looks to give 100%, but he needs to make more impact week in week out.

Worst player on our list.

I think people cut him way too much slack because of his deficiencies, ie he cannot play football. The fact that the Essendon game is heralded as sufficient output is a prime example.

Russian's a bit of a one trick pony...and its really not that brilliant a trick. Ought to enjoy a long and healthy VFL career.
