Green put up for trade!

Just to add. If Fremantle take Watts with Pick 1 which I think is unlikely. Melbourne take Vickery and Ziebell with Pick 3 and 6. If Watts is still avialable. We take Watts and Vickery.

Bell for Reilly (Crows) or Thomson (Power). Could be possible as I hear Crows and Power interested in Bell.

This scenario sounds really interesting, particularly if we traded Green or Bruce for a pick around 15 - 20 & what about Bell for around 27 - 33?

Not likely..

I like the sound of thomson or reilly, however i think Bell not quite enough, although all the mail is both are mildly interested!

Bell for pick for a seconfd rounder just wont happen IMO..

Bate will not be traded...why don't people understand..and rivers will also not be traded

After a year like this season. Almost the entire list should be tradable! Why could'nt Bate be traded? Was dropped at the end of the year. Disappointing not to be able to make his mark in a deplorable Dee side. Especially of his size and ilk. May not be up with the mentallity of Bailey's game plan. Who does Bailey rate? We dont know.

Green has every right to feel aggreived. For years we've been handing out massive retirement packages to aging stars and the gravy train has stopped just before his turn. The club is doing the right thing, and if Brad does leave it will be whoever was responsible for Bruce's, Yze's, White's, Bizzel's etc final contract that is to blame. 28-29 year olds should get 2 years max, 30+, 1 year at a time

Totally agree, furious d.

But if Green can't agree to a contract he will need to go. I'm wondering who the mentors (read examples) will be from next year if he is traded though..

IMHO though, the baby D's will progress better if Green stays through 2009-10.

Green will go if Dee's dont offer 3 years. So he's gone! Will definitley get a 3 year deal elsewhere. Stephen Powell did. If he wants too stay a Dee. Take a leaf out of Robbo's book. He accepted 2 years after being offered 3 years from the Dog's. Robbo! Red & Blue through and through!

Or there are clauses for the 3rd (& other) year.

Yeah, 2 years should have been enough. Don't think he needed to take a pay cut as I don't believe he was in the Yze, Bruce category anyway.

I think he should have been offered a carrot for taking 2 years only.

pay cut only if the 3rd year was offered, ie give him 3 years, first two at good money, 3rd year on half salary, UNLESS he meets certain requirements in the 2nd year of the contract. ie games played, best and fairest votes etc.

although, it could then be a very sensitive issue if he needs an extra game to get the big money and is dropped...im not sure i like performance based contracts for those reasons, it is completely out of the players control.

He has not signed..!!

Talks have re-opened though, 3rd year performance based on the cards..

Demons have held firm, apparently Green has lowered the total $$ value..

We'll soon see, not done yet though..

You can tell he sees the value in being a one-club player. But in one sense, I'd be more than happy for him to be traded to another Club whose Premiership window is nearer. Brad wins, the Club he goes to wins, and we have an opportunity to pick up yet another top class young-un.

thankyou v much. baileys babies along with nudge as reliable whisperers

i posted a week ago that Green would be signing a 2 year contract with clauses for a 3rd.

hopefully he signs the 2. if the club offered him 3 it would be stupid.

hopefully they re-sign moloney as well.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
