I'm pretty sure he meant top 20, given that he said a 4th pick.

To get another pick in the top 20, I'd assume no player over 23 was particularly safe

I know the question was a little rhetorical, but the only way I could see us getting into the top 10 would be to give up Green and 17 or 19 for an 8, 9 or 10. Not that I want that, mind you.

Green and pick 35 may get anywhere from 15-25... Which would leave 1, 17, 19 untouched. With fair depth in the draft this would be considered reasonable or even more likely. I'm not so sure a club would be willing to give up a top 10 draft pick for Brad Green.

Rivers and McLean would usually command a top 10 pick, but due to their injury problems, the club's on-field state and the importance of high drafts picks with the new teams coming in, you wouldn't be getting too many clubs wanting to offload prized picks now.

I doubt Green would get you that. He is an honest worker but lacks the upside to really impact games that could create trade value. IMO Green has a 2nd round trade value. I dont think even with leverage of another pick that a team would chase Green to the tune of offering a Top 10 pick

Rivers has no value. Two years of OP should scare away if the most courageous punter. We are better off keeping him and seeing what we can extract from him game wise.

I reckon McLean has potential Top 10 value possibly in a team like Richmond and Western Bulldogs. But why would MFC trade him when our midfield is so threadbare and we lack leadership.

I dont see that we have much to go to the trade table with that we would be happy to release to get a Top 10 pick. I wish it were otherwise and somebody desperately wanted Carroll.:lol:

I wouldn't be so sure.

Freo are in the business of trading for washed up 28 year olds.

i'd get rid of pick 35, but try and get a 4th pick inside top 10- that would help us

A 4th pick inside the top 10 will be next to impossible, given our list of players and it also being the 2nd last untainted draft

Hopefully we will be able to get another pick for maybe a late 1st / early 2nd round pick. Given the supposed depth of this years draft. Obviously another 1st round pick would be awesome, but a 2nd round pick is more achievable IMO (given what we've got to offer).

Unless a deal such as Bell for a 2rp as well as one of Bruce/Green for a 2rp, then on traded for a 1rp.

We would be able to get rid of green for a top 20 pick surely. green and one of our late picks.

and we need it, its important..especially if we're going to get warnock, cos that wont be via PSD.

Pre Season Draft - Warnock

National Draft - Trade Nobody

I agree with Rhino in that we really havent got any value to add to the trade table

He's played the whole year for Box Hill.

He started really slowly playing CHF and struggling to have an impact. Half way through the year he looked certain trade bait for the end of the year.

A new role was created for him as a Richo style wingman and he has thrived in that position in the second half of the year.

Nonetheless because of Hawthorn’s abundance of tall forwards you would think he’d be way down the pecking order and still be put on the table come trade week.

Thanks.

Right now, I think the MFC sole focus would be on Robbie Warnock and the draft picks they have up their sleeve in 1,17,19,35,51,67. Other than that, they could be looking at trading a player to another club in return for a reasonable late 1st round or early second round draft pick, in exchange with one of our 3rd or 4th round draft picks 35 or 51.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
