He has been dropped again. He has the ability to kick multiple goals. Had a great year last year. I think we should go for him. I'd be interested in Boyle as well.

Shh. Let him go ahead with his ideas.

I would seek out 0 players because going for anything U23 would usually ask for something hefty in return, and likely to be picks, which we are not trading away.

Seek draft picks? Late 1st rounders should be the go.

Corey Jones surely won't go. Roos need him because Thompson won't last long and Edwards is inconsistent, and now that Grant has gone- Hale can't be their only avenue to goal.

Don't rule out getting players in trade week who are over 23 freak.

jones is worth a top 20 pick and we should seriously consider trading him because Moloney is older, less value, yet valuable to our team as he can roost the ball and win it tight, as well as being a better leader. Jones gets wrapped up too much. Valenti is worth keeping, and we'd neevr trade mclean or mcdonald

Better watch your Joneses BB. I presume you mean Nathan in the last paragraph.

FWIW, I wouldn't touch Corey Jones with a barge pole; has had a dog of a year. Over paid, over rated. Sound familiar?

He was close to All Ausralian last year and can kick a goal unlike anyone else in our forward line. Anyone can have a bad year it doesn't mean they are finished. Players usually don't get traded if they have had a great year.

Posted

Nope, don't rate Corey Jones. Sure he's up and about when the team is winning, but is one of the first to drop off when the going gets tough.

Actually, when i think about it, he'd be a perfect fit with the dees.

Posted

how can you even consider trading for these kinds of players, when we are ONLY going through this part of the season with one thing in mind, THE DRAFT. Look towards the draft and consider who we should pick up and who we could trade off, cause this trading for players business ain't gonna happen.

Posted
.... the draft is the way to go..another pick in the top 20 would be great except i dont think we have any trade-able players worth that much

Indeed.

Whilst Jones is a good player. He has struggled this year and does not fit Mfc's youth requirements ....

I cant see it happening, but good on u for putting an idea out there mate, dont let them shoot u down..

Boyle is a far more viable option, and is one 2 look at, As ive mentioned a dozen times.. :)

Corey Jones is the biggest front runner in the league, and he has some of his own team mates chasing him for this title...Daniel Wells and Daniel Harris look great when the roos are up and beating someone but when the pressure is on and the game is there to be won, they are as soft as butter

Yes. Worth looking at and contemplating....

Corey Jones is a bit older than I thought he was so he's probably not a great idea for the club, but if someone does pick him up they will have a good player. Even though he hasn't had a great year he has still kicked more goals than any Melbourne player.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
