Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

The dynasty is over ...

Enjoy the trips to sunny Cranbourne and the Casey Scorps...

Start visiting Casey Fields today (Saturday) MFC supporters because unlike Sandringham, Zebraman, we're in the FINALS!

And MFC supporters just ignore the fact that some of those players running round in Scorps guernseys are actually Saints players.

True...and Casey are my smoky fto win the Grand Final...

However, Sandy's recent record in the finals is far and away the best...we'll see if the Scorps can even match, let alone beat that record

Agreed...I think it will be a long time until any tyeam matches that period of domination by the Zebs.

I wish the Zebbies well.. but I think their little run is coming to an end for some time. Will be weakend with NO Dee players in finals. Ought to be passingly interesting to see how they fare next year with the Sainters as feed. Same can be aid for Scorps really ( assuming we align )

Bub, i don't think anyone claims Sandy's success has been based off the result of their ressies. So I don't think, in terms of the dynasty, that many link no Dees players playing ressies with Sandy's future success.

Haha sorry I'm on crack. Thought you were saying the Zebras will be hurt in finals because of no Dees players playing and it's a sign their run is over.

Play on

Well ..not quite..but also..lol

I would think that any team is going to be weakend to some degree with no acces to AFL players. Adittedly...its is us..so maybe yore quite right !! lol

I do consider the Zebs are in a different part of the footy cycle now...if its a clock..its past noon ;) Would have been Herculian to remain at the pinancle any longer than they did.

I would say that the reason there were no Melbourne players listed is because Sandringham severed the relationship once Melbourne announced they were moving to Casey. Sandy started talking to St Kilda & stitched up a deal BEFORE anyone told the Scorpions what was happening & didn't give them a heads up that they should start talking to Melbourne. So once the season was over for Sandy they had no further need of our players. I don't think insurance is the issue - the relationship is just plain old over.

MFC have not signed any agreement with Casey so I cant see how it could state that it was moving.

From an MFC perspective, insurance was a very important consideration particularly if Sandy 1st firsts were in the finals.

He came into the side last night as an emergeny replacing Stephen Gilham (virus). Simply highlights the absurdity of the VFL's decision to allow both he and Taylor to play for the Box HIll Reserves.

i can only assume they allowed it on the back of hawthorns emergencies being allowed game time so they weren't just sitting in the stands, but it doesnt make any sense in terms of the vfl competition, the whole reason the rules are there is to stop players dropping back and playing below their level.

Absolutely...unfortunately the domination by the Zebs didn't transfer through to the Demons. As BB has said a new era begins...A new dawn.

Not having signed anything didn't stop the Demons proclaiming the imminence of a move to Casey. A large article in the HS on March 28 quoted Chris Connolly at length on the matter under the headline "Dees move out to Casey" including:

"We will be at casey, full on, for two years".

"It hasn't been ticked off, but we will put an extension on (to the existing facilities at Casey) and make it work".

"In October, we'll get our footy department out there full time".

Full marks for enthusiasm to CC, and it certainly got a lot of other people enthused, but it spooked Sandringham.

I'll repeat it again...Sandy wanted to continue the alignment with Melbourne....Melbourne would not commit to an extension.....

Sandy didn't sever the relationship....

I'm looking forward to the Sandy/Scorpions match next year either at Trevor Barker Oval or the glorious surrounds of Casey Fields

Melbourne would not commit to an extension.....

Not committing to an extension is not the same as severing the relationship..........Sandy ended it by joining with St Kilda. Sandy didn't even offer the MFC the courtesy of letting them know before publically announcing they were going with St Kilda.

There is a very real difference between not committing to an extension (no definite decision yet made either way) and severing a relationship (it’s all over red rover).

It was the former which Melbourne did – it was the latter which Sandy did.

From what you’re saying Sandy didn’t tell MFC prior to the announcement. Likewise St KFC did not tell the Scorpions.

do you think that the mfc was doing the right thing however? it would not make sense to train at casey, and have our admin at casey, and then send players across town to TBO to play with sandy. espec when the same players are probably going to cross paths with casey players at casey. i think we were doing the right thing by all parties by not committing until we knew where we would be based next year...

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
