With a new CEO and president there definately seems to be a good vibe about the club.

At the birthday bash the staff came across as pretty happy and excited about being there.

Communications with the club are responded to quickly and amiably.

And there are plans in the wind for a 20-20 type summit [maybe around October] where grass-roots supporters will get to make input as well.

The MFC do not seem to be missing a trick when it comes to PR opportunities lately.

Whilst some people may think this is because the admin staff "have been given a rocket" I suspect that its probably quite the opposite, and that instead the MFC is becoming a happier, more creative, proactive outfit.

The can-do demons.

Getting it together on and off the field.

What have your recent experiences with the club been like?

Agree Its a Nightmare.

Responses from the club have been swift and professional. There is a real positive vibe off the field, which is slowly transferring onto the field. This is why 2009 is being seen as a really exciting year and the start of a new beginning in a way. We are only seeing glimpses now.

I hope you guys are correct, and my disappointment (see below) is a one-off, isolated instance which will soon be remedied.

I am a 25 year member of our great Club, and unfortunately, there was a stuff-up when I renewed my membership last November. One phone call in December, two emails (May and June) and a 'snail mail' letter (3 July), all of which were very polite, have gone gone unanswered at this stage.

I still purchased my $200 raffle ticket, and I will be renewing my membership in '09, and supporting Debt Demolition in August, but I find the lack of even an acknowledgement of my communications to be damn annoying.

A bit like having teenage kids I suppose. You love ém with all your heart, but sometimes you feel like you need to give them a giant kick up the bum!

U're right.

You also can't wait for the day when they become self sufficient.

Give em a call today to sort it out then....let them know!

No reply to an email I sent to info@, after the Club's member email asked supporters to email suggestions/feedback to the Club (reiterating a comment on The Footy Show made by Stynes, in which he also pledged that all would receive a reply). I mentioned it in another thread on a similar topic, and a couple of people had the same experience as me. Clearly, others have had better experiences.

On the flip side, the Membership Manager this season has always responded promptly when I've contacted them directly.

Whilst that is a little disheartening I wouldn't take it too personally rogue. I had a brief chat with the marketing manager and yes there were a lot of incoming emails. There were a lot of ideas...many quite similar in nature and I'm told they were all appreciated.

I suspect the only reason you did'nt get a reply was the same reason that nice Toorak girls don't go to orgies...it would mean having to write too many thank you letters.

I didn't take it personally. However, it is poor form, especially when the President comes on national TV and asks for people to write in, promising a reply. Do you agree?

While the Toorak girls gag is a good one, it's not excuse - it'd be very, very, easy to create some template responses and reply using those. Given Styne's pledge, I think it's bad business not to. However, I don't particularly care personally.

Your right and you need to ring the club so they know the problem still exists. At the moment the club cannot afford to let anyone down or fail to fulfill pledges it makes. It would be very easy to send a standard reply thanking you for your time. I have emailed the club and did receive a quick, polite response. So don't winge here, ring them, they have to know and it's up to all of us to keep the accountable.

I don't think I 'need' to, no. The Club has email, and asked to be emailed.

Correct. While I don't care about a lack of reply, I'm sure others may - particularly after the President pledged to have all correspondence replied to.

I'm not whingeing - someone asked for people's experiences, and I've provided mine :)

'Its a Nightmare' created a thread to assert that of late, 'communications with the club are responded to quickly and amiably'. However, that's one experience, and I'm unsure if that can be generalised.

While 'Its a Nightmare''s experiences may reflect their assertion, it's clear that not everyone has had the same experience as them (cf Deeoldfart).

PS. Did you receive a quick, polite, response after using info@? I've received quality responses after contacting particular staff directly, as I mentioned.

Fair enough but you still need to ring them

Rogue has a valid point...a template of responses would have helped.

The general gist of this thread is that I believe the vibe / mood of the club's admin is improving, but thats just based on my experiences...if you've had a bad experience and / or have ideas of how things then can be done even better then by all means go ahead. Let people have their say.

despite the year we are having on field i can see an improvement, a back line coming together. a ruck division with Warnock that can compete and a forward line with Watt or another KP to keep the ball in there.

A board that seems to want to be there, did you ever see whats his name with a MFC scarf on just the positive vibes and the excitiment around.

I cant wait for trade week to see which way we jump in our selections.

I'm delighted to report that the problems with my membership have now been rectified. Many thanks MFC!

This exact thing happened to me. To the point where I actually didnt have my membership card for teh first 4 matches.

And to this day still hasnt been resolved. Because staff in teh membership department didnt take my C/C nor contact details (except for my address strangly enough) down, I have been issued a court order notice from the debt collectors chacing up money for my membership. Luckly yesterday, I finally cleared some of the matter up and narrowly avoided giving me a bad credit rating.

To be honest, MFC membership staff are as usless as [censored] on a bull. However, I dont hold the club personally responsible for this.

But yes, a very bad experiance thus far!!!!

Hope your issue is resolved quickly RK, and to your complete satisfaction.

I'm now very happy with my situation, but it took far too long, and the complete lack of communication from the Club was very disappointing. Not the best way to run a business!

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
