I was on my feet for the majority of the chase, urging him on.... i just knew he was gonna get him! It was more like spring racing carnival than footy... "Come on PJ... go PJ go!... GO... yeSS, GO.... YEEEEAAHAHHH!!!!!!"

Spot on!!! Yeah I thought they worked really well as a pair today and we hopefully will not need White again... Dont forget Jaimar's tackle as well on the southern stand wing!!! That was fantastic!!!!!!!!!

I will be honest and say that on today's performance, I think Jeff White may struggle to come back into the side straight away!

Absolutely.

I remember watching him at Sandy a few yeras ago. He was on the wing- boundry line. At full pace he bent down , scooped the ball up, had a couple of bounces then slotted the best goal i`d seen in a while. He got the JJ Liston that year without playing a full season. He then suffered that injury, it`s great to see him back with confidence in his body.

I remember when he did his shoulder up in Sydney last year or the year before. He put his body on the line when the ball was at ground level. I remember thinking geez that's what I want to see. White would never do that!!!

That's a CORKER Arem...

Though the faces are a bit confusing...

Sherman looks like he's diseased... and PJ looks a bit like he's about to say "Maaate, you are GAAAAAWN!"...

GREAT pic though. For demons fans that's the equivalent to seeing the Shaun Smith pic... Just makes you remember fondly the following action.

I was on the other side of the ground, I couldn't have been further away from him unless I went a few rows back... And the section I was in stood up... That's how good it was.

PJ has earned some fans with this single action. Up there with his SCG heroics...

What a chase by the big man!!

Absolute brillance from PJ....awesome.

High Tower is so agile, and got some serious speed on him. Imagine once he learns more on how to bullock through packs like the Ox used to, he'll clean someone up legally one day! Go Dees! I love the big man. He's really developing now. Can take marks in the forward 50 too! Hell of an "asset!"

Great effort boys! ;)

here's hoping he stays fit. Certainly got a lot of spirit and a big asset.

Spirit and the will to win....in the truck loads!

reading the paper this morning.......either miller or green says that PJ is in the top 5 in the club for speed!

Its an interesting statistic (especially at the WCE  ). If PJ can have more influence in the ruck area then he may be good for us. However without that, I am still to fathom where he fits into the team LT.

However, it was an awesome run down and his use of the ball after gut running was clean. Good stuff and you cant fault PJ's commitment.

I recall someone spoke of Petterd for Sherman not long ago. :o No thanks.

It was awesome. The way the crowd went up.

Imagine if Aussie had kicked that snap shot. I don't know what would have happened. Would have definitly been the greatest moment of my life lol

I was pretty much in line with Aussie and the goals when he got the ball and knew exactly what he was going to do. The Brisbane supporters around me and I, were confident that he would dob it, he just got the aiming point wrong.

PJ is fast becoming a favourite of mine and if he stays injury free and continues to improve will be extrememly valuable. The run down was fate - as soon as the chase started I reckon most of us knew the result.

The passage of play was so up and down though - from ecstacy to dispair as the ball is turned over straight away with a terrible fumble. Despite the win, I hope some attention is given to the person who caused turnover - PJ put it on the line and deserved better than that. I kept mumbling "Bloody M....... B...!!!".

And Aussie should have run into the square before he kicked what should have been a certain goal. The supporters around me couldn't belive he kicked the ball so early. Still, the guy is a absolute gem and my 5 year old wears his MFC jumper with No. 39 on the back to Auskick with pride. I always feel so much more excited seeing a guy from late in the draft or a rookie "make" it. Touching moment after the game when Stynes escorted Aussies father on the ground to celebrate with his son - special moment for the family and the club.

Edit: The Aussie incident I was refering to was the snap from the pocket when he tried to bend it back. I thought he could have run much closer and made it a certainty. The one right at the end was perfectly understandable and he did very well.

Gem of a photo this one.

ABsolute classic, Sherman hears the footsteps. Someone put demon horns in High Tower's head, it looks like he's about to eat him!

Great pic, absolute cracker.

Can someone please tell me the exact time of this run down? Am failing to see it on any highlights etc...I was taking a drink break when it happened :(

I hope someone Youtubes 'The Chase'.

I hope he recieves a nomination for the AFL 'Army' award for his chasedown. His tackle was arguably better than Dunn's effort on Foley that received a nomination a couple of weeks ago.

Given the amount of talk about this in the media and on footy forums, it would take a world of beating I suspect. Check out the thread on BigFooty about our win to see how yesterdays win impressed and gave enjoyment to nuetral supporters. PJ's run-down was THE highlight of the game imo.

Can't wait for the replay on Foxtel. I'm just gonna sit there and watch it over and over and over and over..

The whole of the MCC were on their feet screaming and clapping. Truly an awesome moment.

It was Green who said it.

I've been PJ bandwagon member #1 since '05 (don't believe me? check my posts :)) and saw him play juniors, and not even i knew that he was in the top 5 at the club for speed! I knew he was quick for a big man, but not that quick...

Not to take anything away from PJ, who looks really quick over 50+ metres, but we really must have a slow list...

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
