Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Isn't one young key forward with a bad attitude enough? Have heard he has annoyed a few team mates with his ego over at the hawks.

It's not like Thorp has done much at Box Hill either.

I have heard similar things however I would still be interested. Not much room for him in the Hawks forward line and they have been playing him at CHB at the Box Hill Hawks recently.

As for Kosi, good bloke but lack of awareness and injury history makes him a no for me.

Justin Koschitzke

#23 St Kilda Saints

Age: 25yr 8mth Games: 108

Born: September 20, 1982

Height: 197cm Weight: 98kg

Position: Forward, Ruck

There's his profile for reference.

So not drastically old - remember that from 25-27 we have very few players, due to the moslty stuffed 2000-2001 drafts.

Mention of Kosi has put a thought in my head.

Bruce... for Kosi... gets sold as both players making a new start, maybe a win for both clubs. Definately a risk for both clubs. Bruce is rated higher by the rest of the world than he is on Demonland, that's for sure.

It's certainly a good option for us I think, and more dignified than trading a stalwart player for a second or third round draft pick.

Still... I'm only moderately impressed by Koschitzke. I wouldn't want to end up with the next Kent Kingsley trade.

If St Kilda would only go for Bruce if they were close to challenging a flag and need a player like Bruce. They arent in the picture for a flag and I dont think they would go for Bruce.

I am not sure with Gehrig gone that they have a need for Kosi at FF.

I know it's a bit early to bring up the end of season trades and stuff yet but just putting this name out there and feel free to throw others in the mix but would a player like Koschitzke fit into the MFC plans for the future or is he out of the age bracket. Is 25 now and the saints aren't looking like challenging any time soon so may look at getting rid of some middle aged players and starting again with Koschitzke's name already being mentioned in the press.

Would provide a target up front for us which we sorely need but is injury prone and has underacheived to date IMO. What do others think? For the right price would he be good to have in the red and blue?

Yeah, great, we could pay all his hospital benefits for the next 3 yeards whilst 15 other clubs, LAUGH at us. Is good for 10 games a season, none of them being good. His awareness is so poor, he doesn't even know where he is when he wakes up in his own room in the morning.

He played 19(?) last year.

And his injury run is no worse than Rivers or Moloney

Whose injury concerns are disastrous and a key reason why we are struggling at the cold end of the ladder.

I would like to think we would not be foolish enough to bring another injury prone player in.

I love Rivers, one of the reasons I attend matches, think he's an absolute beauty. He Can't get on the park for more than 4 weeks in a row.

Successful teams don't have injury prone players.

You don't go out of your way to trade one onto your list

I would rather give a jumper to a sack of cow [censored], then bother with this pea heart. At least the bag of cow [censored] will not cost you a pick, player and 500k a year under the salary cap. If he cannot thrive in a forwardline that has riewoldt in it (roo always take the best defender, and the floating man down back), then there is no way known he can the the linchpin of the MFC forwardline.

Draft, Draft and draft again. St Kilda have a premiership window (that is closing), if they cannot use him what good is he to us as a rebuilding side??

there's no way we'll trade our first round selection, a top 4, probably top 2 pick... if we get a priority pick then you'd think that'd be around the mark of what st. kilda would accept...

is he worth a pick somewhere between 17-20? for us? at the stage of where our list is at? no...

although i disagree with YM on Tim Boyle... i'd consider a 3rd rounder (pick 33-36) and an upgrade of our next pick, given we'll have 3 top 20 selections and one or two players to come off the rookie list onto the senior list...

wouldn't have him cleaning the dressing rooms let alone playing for the club, another one of those overrated st kilda mob

I wonder how available J Brown is and how much longer his body will produce good footy? I would say he is about 98% sure to stay in Brisbane so this may be pointless but I will indulge anyway. Another factor is how much would it cost to get him? Assuming we get the no. 1 pick there is no way we would let that go. But would they take an offer like Bruce, Petterd and pick 17? Might not be enough.

Trading 2 prospects and an experienced player for 1, admittedly, fantastic 27 year old would not add to our list but thin it considerably.

This kind of trade are for teams that are near the precipice and are trying to get over the line by getting a ready made FF.

We are rebuilding and any player brought in through trades or PSD should 24 or younger.

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n
