I do remember seeing #40, but wasn't really paying attention.

Green could be a trade unfortunately.

I really want to see Bruce traded and Green made captain.

great report on Watts.......l think Green will go and Bruce will stay

The main barrier with Bruce is that he is on a huge pay packet that is over the odds for his current market value

Unbelievable.

So if we were to trade him, we would have to pay part of his salary for the 1 year remaining of his contract, the same as we did with TJ.

I'd be fine with that.

Yes but I say a lot of things.

Haha :D

That's probably the most astute comment you've ever made.

 How many times have you guys changed your mind. Kicked 3 goals on the weekend, was moved into the centre as well. Was creative and showed class personified. No bad at 17yo. Almost got Sandy over the line.

i think what deers on demonology says sums up what i have been trying to say

"Here is the danger I see with recruiting Watts.

While Jack continues to mature, be exposed to the top flight and bulk up, Daniel Rich is tearing up Subiaco on his way to a Rising Star - and Demonologists look at him in frustration whilst Watts is slowly gaining momentum but unable to exhibit his star status we all expect of him.

It's a time issue here. If we were not skating on thin ice as a club then I wouldn't be concerned.

At least in Naitanui's case, although he will be similar in patience before he starts to show, and probably more - it's the marketing dream of his gargantuan leap and athleticism combined with the standout physical profile."

Quick fix hey?

I think we will be a little bit more peeved when Wats turns out to be a superstar CHF and Rich is just another run of the mill midfielder, especially when we are still trying to recruit a key forward.

Hmmmm....you do the math.

I am glad you aren't in charge of recruiting.

Jack Watts all the way baby!

btw, i appreciated your report

and i have also gone to the effort to see jack watts play live

i am very exited about the prospect of him playing at melbourne, HOWEVER, i am still a little worried about us taking him over niknat and rich and this is why i made that other thread

i hope he turns out to be a great player and i wouldnt be upset if we got him but i still think its a bit risky with a no. 1 pick thats all

NikNat would be great but the thing is that go home factor apparently is a very worrying sign towards ppl at the MFC. Hell i wouldnt draft a guy who had question marks on him wanting to go home ASAP. Same as Rich.

Watts is an unbelievable talent also. Only 17, has so much more potential to fill, it may not happen over night but it will happen and the journey will be fun to watch

Guys & Gals, what the mf club is calling out for is a Key Position Player, with strong leadership values. The supporters are crying out for it, the club is calling out for it, these forums have been crying out for it. We want someone who will fill these attributes, a long term prospect. He doesn't have to win the Rising Star. That is not what it is all about. We want direction. We want a premiership. We want a recruit that won't want to go home in 4-6 years time. We want a 10-15 year player who will represent the Red & Blue guernsey and that will excite us. That will provide strength, that will be a huge cog in our spine and th eclub's future. That will sit bums on seats.

For the last decade and a half we have marvelled at the likes of a James Hird, a Jonathan Brown.

We want class, we want a player that can play the James Hird type roles. Jack Watts is that man IMO.

Thing is... Buddy was playing men prior to AFL.

I am not convinced about Watts. He is playing school footy and only just dominating (3-4goals a week)... school is equivalent to 'junior level VFL', whereas the TAC Cup is equivalent to 'junior level AFL'. I'd be expecting him to be really really smashing the opposition (8-9goals a week) in school football, as blokes like Judd, Crawford, Ball, etc. did. In the few times I have seen Watt, I haven't gone away thinking 'Damn! That kid is going to be amazing'.

The WAFL or SANFL have proven good guides to how kids will perform against men, because they ARE playing men in those leagues. I'm in the Naitanui corner this draft.

I thought Buddy only played 18s over in the WAFL?

And the guys you mentioned are all on-ballers. You'll often find that some forwards perform better in better sides as the delivery they receive is better and they'd aren't the sole focus of the opposition defenders

Spot on.

Yeah, only played 1 senior game in WAFL. My bad. LoL.

I'm still not sure on Watts though... maybe it's just me being a heart-broken Melbourne supporter, who always expects the worse. If we get either one of Rich/Watts/Naitanui I'd be happy... I'm just worried that Watts will be our Hodge/Ball/Tambling, and Naitanui will be West Coast's Judd/Franklin.

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had
