Very interesting selection this week.

You have Rivers, Sylvia, Wheatley and White who all trained well and are best 22. Then you have C Johnson and Yze who have been pushing for selection in the last few weeks. On the flipside Davey, Holland and Robertson are all in doubt.

Because there will most likely be a few forced changes I believe DB will try and avoid dropping more than one player so as to not lose some of that momentum we established last week.

In: Rivers, Sylvia, Wheatley, White

Out: Davey (inj), Holland (inj), Robertson (inj), Jamar

Bartram and Bell survive another week.

possible that Cale might miss? He is sick i think?

With those changes, we don't have a single marking, goal kicking forward. I wonder when the list time we played without all three of Neitz, Robertson or Holland was?

I really hope Holland is fit.

You're right, should we play Newton?

With those changes we still have Bate and Miller as tall forwards who could play deeper not to mention PJ and White who can rest forward. Add to that Green, Wonaeamirri and possibly Sylvia who could go forward and I think we'd be in as good shape as any other week.

I think Yze or Sylvia could cover for Robbo. Add Bate and Miller one or both of whom could go deeper, and a resting ruckman and there's no need to play Newton. However I don't know much about St Kilda's defence, maybe playing Newton will stretch their defenders.

St Kilda's defence is not particularly strong. Hudgton will play back and then there is Dempster and the two Fishers who are more running type defenders as well as Gram who doesn't really play on anyone. Having Holland come up will be a massive advantage for us.

Would be provided you got the ball down there quickly and with a bit of height.

If he's manned up by S. Fisher he'll be killed on the rebound

Last year only Holland played round 3 (then disappeared), they all missed 4 and 5 with Neitz returning not very auspiciously against the Power from Port.

I just fail to see what Sandy can do for him at this point. Morton is far above that level of football. He seems neither tired or jaded. How can an 18yo kid not be excited to play senior AFL every week? The Adelaide game prooved this. For the first time he played with a bit of swagger, a bit of cockiness. A goal off one step from 55 metres out and that pass to Bruce were indicative of this. I want him to play 350 games for the club.
Agree..he's shown he's up to it

Very good summation - would like to see Dunne coming into contention as well...

I would like that too.

But just think he needs to have an impact at Sandy first.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

    TRAINING: Wednesday 11th December 2024

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
