This is why we lose games

Stretchy jumpers?

Try again...it has something to do with the amount of their players and the amount of our players around the ball.

Can anyone tell what is wrong?

An illegal below-the-knee tackle is being applied.

So one photo which happens to have a few opposition players in the frame depicts the reason we lose games? Get real. We could have 18 of our players around the ball and our skills would still turn the ball over.

If you can find a photo of us struggling to get the ball out of our defensive 50, then post that

This is one of the MANY reasons why we lose games. You can never put it down to one singular issue, especially when your losses average over 50 points.

So what the hell chance have we got when a player is mauled by 4 blokes instantaneously, 4 blokes who have the discipline, the desire, the passion and the motivation put the man under pressure as soon as he gets the ball.

We're concerned about running the ball forward but we are defensively pissweak. As soon as we loose the ball we stop running. The amount of Adelaide players that were constantly free yestersday...bloody unbelievable. Why don't our play run as much as other teams? Are we not fit? Do we have the motivation to? Why don't we have players constanly free? Why don't we hunt in packs? Why don't we outman an opposition player 4 to 1 when they have the ball. The only way we can win games is to apply constant pressure! Where is it? Why do our blokes not run? We were lucky not to lose by 150 points yesterday. We don't have the confidence, the motivation, the application, the discipline, the desire or the NOUSE to do any of this.

numbers around the ball and player......

seriously, the number of players around any stoppage yesterday would have numbered 20 and yet still got them!!

Looks like he has his arms free and is shaping to snap off a handpass to a number of Melbourne players free because their man is converging on the ball carrier.

it did look like Adelaide had twice as many on the field yesterday. Too many players go missing and just aren't creative enough or can read the play. Too many players are flat footed. Blow some seriopus wind up there asses Bails

Colin Garland? I agree :P

Seriously though, it is a combination of unsized bodies and defensive pressure. We suck with both.

Our players never seem to put on the size that other clubs' do, and our defensive pressure this year has been the worst I can remember from a team.

Being attacked by 4 opposition players means there should be 3 unmanned demons players near the stoppage. We are not losing because there is 4 opposition players in a frame. As has been said above there is a number of reasons, but with good skills, Garland should have the skills / awareness to hit a free Melbourne player (If of course, the other players can read the play well enough to be in position).

I'll bet if we took the 'hunt in packs' philosophy into coming games we would be destroyed as it would mean there are even more free opposition players on the ball.

The simple fact of the matter is that we don't nearly run as hard as an other team which is one of the main reasons why we are constantly getting flogged.

We certainly have alot of recievers in our team.. like the peter daicos of old give it to me in the clear iand i will look lioke a star and kick straight as there is no pressure.. lol the only problem with this senario is there was no one getting the ball.. the big men tried but seriously how skillful flexible can they be, how many players do we have that are in and under players??

Barty (kinda) moloney definately, brock definately , jones, and junior.. so we have five..resonable numbers but not when the coach uses two of these guys to play the role of stoppers barty and junior.. left us three players who where swapped around all day to span the entire ground and win the ball for us.. now the only way recivers get the bal is from the in and unders ..so where does this leave us? when brett ratten was midfield coach our guys got a backbone .. green got in there so did brucey and junior was a star. toughen these gus up for christ sakes bloody show ponies half of them jonesy and moloney put them to shame with there attack on the ball. you can virtually garrentee that jones is the last up from the bottom of the pack.. a little support goes along way

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
