  1. Past hour
  2. Great analysis DZ. As for Tmac, I think he's been a revelation down back again and stays. He butchered it a few times v the tigers but almost who didn't. Petty to Casey.
  3. Watching Petty live the other night, he is horribly out of form and confidence. He was missing kick after kick during the warm up. he was completely out of sorts. I presume he is there hoping he will find form until others are ready to step in. To me some ready made replacements are there, in form and ready to go. Surely Fullerton comes in for the role he was traded for. Back up ruck and fwd. natural replacement for Petty who must go back to find form. The fact Petty went into Ruck the other night was just about hm getting hands on the ball. The other is McAdam. Disco's performance created a selection headache but you cant drop him now. Surely McAdam comes in for Laurie. all of a sudden we have a much better look and players in form.
  4. Did you find these stats on the afl app? Interested to look at them
  5. Didn't do any preseason due to his foot injury. Came into the AFL team off just a couple of half VFL games (where he also struggled) and people are surprised that he is struggling to get involved. Running is a very important part of playing AFL football and Petty hasn't been able to do any due to a long term foot injury. If you can't run then you can't play.
  6. I think the club was looking at it at the end of last year before he got injured again, or they didn’t have the guts to pull the trigger on it in a final.
  7. Upon reflection. Given how flat footed and error ridden we were again by foot. Is it too audacious to hint at the fact Selwyn may have put abit of extra loading into the group to utilise the extra bye we get this year? Knowing full well we have enough talent to beat the tigers at 75-80% rat power? It’s arrogant to plan a few weeks in ahead, but maybe the club is putting more weight into the upcoming games against the Cats (who we have an extra 3 days break on) and then the blues (5 day break). These upcoming games are Top 4 shaping games. (8pt games dare I say it.)
  8. I could agree more. I’m pretty sure I also said we could hit the side of a barn by foot? Which is what’s making me nervous going forward.
  9. At what point did I say anything about them scoring from stoppages? The point I made was that we were smashed in them. Luckily for us our defence is out one wood. Against better sides, we can’t afford to be belted so hard at the stoppages.
  10. The next two weeks will tell us if we are genuinely a top 4 team, big improvement needed.. I've resigned to thinking we are not at that level this year, without the ball we are the best defence that's keeps us in games but our skills and knowledge of how to present as a opption all over the field we are last imo.hope to be proven wrong
  11. It’s fine that you say so, but you mustn’t forget: everyone/entitled/opinion etc. I’ve had that thrown at me so many times, surely it applies to everyone.
  12. I have rewatched the second half a couple of times to try and get a handle on our performance, first half was woefully poor, Helter skelter kick and run get the ball forward at all cost turn the ball over and Tiges did the same thing, so hard to watch. Thank god for our backline young and older our style of play put them under so much pressure. Second half we moved the ball smarter and ground down the Tiges backline, we started to break even in the midfield and our forwards got on top. Fritta, Kozzie, Disco, the Duke and then Bill all showed some real class. Max, Rick, Steven, Riv, Blake Howes, Judd McVee, Alex and Ed Langdon all played four good quarters of football and Tracc, Jack, Sparrow and Clayton had better second halves. One thing that really stood out was Disco’s game, he has put his hand up for our vacant third tall role. I can see why our Casey followers are so excited by his endeavour, marking, kicking and footy smarts, stay healthy Daniel “Disco” Turner you offer a point of difference. Not sure about Harrison Petty should he swap with TMac so he can get some confidence back, Chin needs to find the ball more, JVR needs to hold his marks and Woey needs more game time. Next two weeks will be illuminating.!!
  13. Dees are listed as - bottom 4 disposal efficiency - below AFL avg contested possessions bottom 6 in contested possessions - bottom 4 handball efficiency - bottom 4 centre clearances - below afl avg inside 50s unbelievable that we are not the contest kings as other clubs have lifted their smarts and intensity in the middle and at stoppage But we are strong in - leading intercept marks - average points against (66) is the lowest Our Defence is Very Very Good Our midfield is just average right now Our forward line is still a 15 year work in progress
  14. That is an interesting take. We can walk him straight to the pre-season draft if that's the go and watch Norf who are in desperate need of KPD's snap him up.
  15. I guess they’re similar enough. I just think sometimes an eye roll is more apt. Maybe it’s because I live with a teenager so I cop a lot of 180 degree eye rolls, usually accompanied with a sigh so deep it’d blow your hair back. 🙄😤😁
  16. Disco up forward reminds me a bit of Brodie Mihochek; presents strongly, an intelligent footballer, good skills and looks a reliable set shot. I re-watched the hilights earlier and his performance was very exciting. He could be the missing piece we have been looking for
  17. Today
  18. Some light reading for @Jaded No More
  19. the bloke is clearly down on confidence. there is only one way to build confidence - hard work. and you can see he is working hard. itll come.
  20. So doesn't that tell you something after the heroics of Adelaide? After 5 minutes everyone at the ground could see we were cooked, for whatever reason and theories abound (short breaks, sleeping ina hotel for a week, lots of kids on tour, away games, emotional high - I'm a fan of all of these contributing) , but that's the situation. They owned us and we lost by only 22 points, another paradox. On Anzac Eve, as predicted by Fox panel, both teams were rusty in the extreme, and class showed out once warmed up. Problems sure but we need a deep breath taken on here. Iv'e always been a huge fan of Disco's since he played a blinder of an first game opening 1/4 before I think his jaw was broken from memory. Big take out from this week's game. Upside a - plenty. Go Dees
  21. He's clearly a confidence player and always has been. Playing back next to May and Lever allowed him to do his thing without being one of the main men really. He had a difficult return in his first game of 2021 (against Hawthorn was it?), but after that settled in nicely to our defence and by the end of the year was clearly confident and felt at home. Now he's being asked to lead the forwardline with a younger JVR and Disco. I've said it before, but if he stays injury free this year, he will kick a bag at some stage and get his mojo back. At the moment, a player like Petty needs to find that mojo at AFL level, in so many ways the VFL competition is useless. So I'd be strongly against him going back there, but will back the FD if that's what they think, but I doubt they will. The strategy I think will be to have very basic KPIs, getting to as many contests as possible, bringing the ball to ground where he can't mark it, making sure his opponent doesn't intercept on him and eventually the wheel will turn and he'll get his 'bite of the cherry' as they say. He does all this and stays fit and healthy and he can play a huge role for us this year. A match winning one at times.
  22. For some sick reason getting into it with the Collingwood ferals is making me look forward to it more! Hope we win so we can give them a nice send off wave
  23. agreed. first time in years i actually expect crowd punch ups.
  24. Kingsley has got them firing. That was a smashing of a side who smashed us the week before without Toby, Taylor and Coniglio. They have pace to burn and are playing great team football.
  25. Carringbush supporters - always get better odds vs that mob.
  26. Yeah I'd be running it back selection wise. Petty won't be dropped and I'd stick with Woewodin this week as well. Goody won't tinker with a winning formula.
