  1. Past hour
  2. I think the four day work week is already available to a sustantial portion of workers. Many workplaces would be open to an employee working 4 days with a 20% reduction in pay or no reduction if outcomes are measurable to the degree that 100% output is confirmed/maintained. A sole trader/self employed individual could simply choose to only work 4 days. The potential/likely income reduction and the percieved loss of opportunity for promotion are sticky points.
  3. It does seem weird considering his one game impact. Surely this is not a park him til the MSD move?
  4. Maybe not the best player, but Bernie Vince is one of the most underrated and significant recruits we've had, he played a huge role in changing our culture
  5. This is or best recruit fro another club ever. For skills, toughness, leadership and for never playing a bad game. The man is an all timer. This gets lost. B. Lovett was vey good an J. White was super talented, deterined and successful. But, as the best recruit fro another club. Surely its a 1 horse field?
  6. Hi 640MD. I remember him. He wore a torn up old red & blue cap to our games and was part of the 'grog squad' that stood behind the cheer squad with Ian Ball and 'Animal' in the 1980's. I started running the CS with some friends from around the mid 80's when we sat near the race in the Northern Stand. From memory our immediate predecessors were the Galvins and a guy called Peter Burley? It sounds like you were from the era before them maybe?
  7. Fantastic ... fun times MT! Some very creative people around in that era. Alot of free spirits came out of the 60s and comtinued that into the 70s
  8. Hoping Woey gets a full game. He deserves it. Preferably up fwd or probably to take Langers position on the flank. Will our fwd line kick enough goals? It's seems really just down to Kozzie and Fritta this year. I hope Milkshake can get back to the team this year and soon. Unless Petty hits a golden patch we will really struggle to kick enough goals. Maybe the new fwd line injuries and subsequent replacements this round may be fortuitous. These are the games on paper we should win but cause a rise in Mfcss. 😄
  9. Definitely...except when kicking at goal or further than 30 metres. But I do like him, maintains a calm facade and tackling/defensive efforts have been better last 2 weeks, IMV
  10. Agreed. Clarry is getting crucified week in week out. The general inconsistency on holding the ball is mind blowing.
  11. For FTA and Kayo it's one of the few products they have left so expect to see more time specific games. I'm sure if they thought it would work they would show a late night game into the East starting at say 8pm Perth time.
  12. Yesterday
  13. Debutants from today’s game include two teenagers and if the information is correct a 32 year old for the cuddly bears. Kobe Shipp a Stingrays products stands at 188 cm. Weight ? Sight unseen beanpole or behomoth? For his personal well-being he won’t be a bantamweight. So assuming he has athletic capabilities we’ll place him in the upper light heavyweight division. Subject to conformation of course. Good luck Kobe!
  14. Brisbane look similarly depleted. A great opportunity for our kids to play a more central role.
  15. I learnt a valuable lesson at the Gather Round. I saw three games including ours on the Thursday night. By the end of the second game I was getting a bit bored. Footy is ace but the Dees are acer!!! Totally with you about the overlap, as long as I can see my team, who cares about the rest (unless it is the Bluebaggers getting spanked by 60 points!) mmmm, that's nice!!
  16. Yeah I won't watch 9 games but tbh I don't mind Thursday night football. I'll often put it on in the background, and for my life circumstances I don't mind going as it frees up my weekend for other activities.
  17. The question isn't whether punters want to watch all 9 games. The question is will more people watch if a game is after another game vs if your game finishes and another game is already progressing. I suggest the AFL know the difference this makes in eye balls and eye balls = broadcast $$$$. The broadcasters also would know what this means and the more eyeballs the more potential advertising $$$. As a punter it will irk me at times like this weekend but also I am sure there will be points with quality games pre or post ours that I will appreciate the fact I can watch them in full if I choose.
  18. JJ would not be the difference between us winning a flag this year or not. Likewise he is not going to be the reason the Swans win one. Grundy is a different story because of the position he plays. Swans desperately needed a good ruck once Hickey retired. I wish them both the best and hold no bad feelings towards either. If you want to cry over a player we’ve lost who will really hurt us, cry over Jackson. That’s a generational talent that would have been a decade long replacement for Gawn once he retires.
  19. Anyone who has enough time to watch 9 games of football live every weekend (other than as part of their job or while being sick etc), should go outside and enjoy some fresh air.
  20. It would’ve been in 2020 against Port by about 50 points at the Gabba. Our biggest loss since the end of 2020 is 38 points to Freo at the G in 2022 and we were leading that game by around 30 points in the second quarter. We’ve faced deficits of close to 50 against Brisbane twice but somehow managed to lose by only 11 and 22. And of course 40 odd points down at the Cattery in 2021 before we stormed home for the minor premiership. Like you said we aren’t perfect, but if people can’t see this current team is one competitive beast even when things aren’t going their way it’s their prerogative to scream and shout at close losses. I, amongst others will enjoy every game from this current crop.
  21. Still a better timeslot that scheduling AFLW at 5pm on a Friday night in Frankston. Tbh I actually don't mind this timeslot as a viewer, it's a good time to put on tv around while doing things around the house on a Saturday, assuming it's being broadcast.
  22. When's the last time we lost a game like Carlton did last night? 2019? We're not perfect, but at least we never get blown away like that.
  23. Especially Cripps and Softly Daicos!
  24. Clarry gets pinged a microsecond after being tackled even if he gets a handball away. CFC (both of them) get an eternity, then throw it or drop it - play on. MFCSS kicking in hard.
