Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

There'll be 3 of us. It will be good, the ground and all its facilities will be ours (as it should be). No queues... and we can have the upper hand in telling the umpires what we think.

WYL you better be in your usual spot, how do I recognise you??

And we got smashed. Embley ran riot that day. I think that was the start of our 7 game losing streak which sent us from 2nd to 11th. I had high hopes for that game.

We didnt get smashed we lost by about 4 or 5 goals. It was a comfortable win at best. Geelongs 116 point win last friday - that was an absolute smashing.

Does anyone know what attendance must be met for us to break even? I am assuming it is around the 20,000 mark.

That's what's been reported previously (ie. in the week leadnig up to the Freo game).

Fwiw, while MacNamee made a decent effort to get fans to the game v Freo, I haven't heard any sort of marketing for this game.

Yeah, I think it's 20 000 every week. You'd think we'd get a few people to come just because of the fact that it's on a Saturday, and it's one of the last chances to see us play this year. Not to mention the fact that we're a real chance of winning this week. By the way, who the heck's gonna line up on Quentin Linch?

Yeah I didn't realise the margin was as low as it was (15 points). And as I've just found, there were 35,653 people there that day.

 Knew it was close. That's a fair crowd. I wonder if that would be the record for a Home & Away fixture between the two sides in Melbourne.

Will be there with a Toaster supporter and the other half. 22-27k is my prediction, weather dependant.

'I haven't heard any sort of marketing for this game.' Jim's been in the papers talking the 20k figure up. I do recall PM being lively re Dockers.

Aww, I just realised that our game is on at the same time as Essendon vs Adelaide at the Dome, so the trains on the way home will be pretty full. I hate it when the AFL does this.

You would've hated the trains 20 years ago when games were played at MCG, Vic Park, Windy Hill, Princes Park and Whitten Oval on the one day!!

Go back a little further on days when North was on at Arden St.. Dees at G and Tiges next door...it was hanging on to open door Red Rattlers. Trains today are nothing by comparison for resaon you suggest..its mainly dispersed !!

For weeks now most everybody has been bagging the effort put in by the players[ myself included]. Not that it wasnt warrented in not a few cases, but now the shoe is on the other foot.

Now it our turn to put up OR SHUT UP, if you can possible be there DO IT.

If you can give GIVE even it is by my pet hobbyhorse, a little every month but GIVE.

The supporters are at the equivalent of putting our body on the line or ducking the tackle, whats it to be.

A few putting in or one in all in ----- A TEAM!

And remember if you go dont leave early, see it out, be cheap like me get the most for your money.

ONE TOWN, ONE TEAM, ONE PASSION.

    GAMEDAY: Rd 09 vs Carlton

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again headlining another blockbuster at the MCG to kick off the round of footy. The Dees take on the Blues and have the opportunity to win their third game on the trot to solidify a spot in the Top 4 in addition to handing the Blues their third consecutive defeat to bundle them out of the Top 8.

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,
