  1. Having seen all but a few interstate games this year I can honestly say that I have never seen a single player carry the load like NJhas had to this year. The gap between him and the rest of our side in Browlow voting is a more accurate reflection of what I saw on field than we got at the Bluey. Granted, a different voting system but he has been head & shoulders above the rest.
  2. What a disrgrace that was! No doubt the West Australian judge this year will vote for Nik Nat, the rest wil go with Howie.
  3. Thanks GD. Ironic for me, having finished Jim's book tonight. I also thought Sam's interview on RTE might be worth listen so here's the link for anyone who's interested. Starts a few minutes in http://www.rte.ie/ra...502:11-09-2012:
  4. Are we saying "Get Ling" because he is best for the job or because everyone else is after him?
  5. I think we've come off about 4 consecutive years of playing up the "future" in our membership campaigns only to be shot in the foot so this sits OK with me. And, yeh, I'll be re-signing too. It's amazing the hold footy can have on a person. Anything else which gave me so little joy over a 5 year period would have been banished from my life.
  6. It is a sad and unneccesary death. I hope the circumstances were innocent. The minimum height for balcony rails here is 1 metre, unfotunately most designers and Architects work to the minimum height. I always thought it should relate to the risk?
  7. Richmond and the other teams so far have cut rookies and spuds. We are dealing with former club leaders, champions and with Aaron a contracted player. It's not theway to go to chuck these guys out on their ears a-la Junior. If they are getting honest feedback as the finish for the year and it comes out in the press then why would we care? We should be glad they know what we've come to know during the year i.e. they're not up to it? IRW, of course Neeeld is in charge of the process, who else would be? Or are you inimtaing he doesn't know what he's doing? We'll see. NOt covinced he will be THE coach but I'm starting to believe in his contribution to the list management.
  8. Silly me, I thought this was a thread about Gysberts But I can see it's about Neeld, so I'll leave.
  9. If he's been told in his exit interview that there's not going to be a spot on the list for him next year there's no way of hiding it. His manager knows, therefeore the whole football world knows.
  10. We also lost a Captain & Vice Captain under Bailey.
  11. Hmmmm! I vaguely remember this thread and the process. Just goes to show that a process is a crook if it delivers you the wrong bloke.
  12. Mate, vote with your remote. I haven't watched commercial news for about 6 years. 9's and 7's news is just there to warm up the audience for the garbage that follows. I had to laugh a few weeks back when Media Watch recounted a 9 news story on discounting benefits to be had at Woolworths. I'm sure 'Mitch' was all beat up that 'Hitch' beat him for that one?
  13. I remember seeing a 'heat' map in the membership dept once. All I can recall is being surprised how many supporters we had in North Croydon. Obviously Croydon proper just wouldn't do!
  14. Good luck Liam! I have to agree with a few others that I'm relieved the club will be able to give a spot to someone who's main pre-occupation will be footy. Hopefully this is the end of the storm that passed over the club this year! Only other thing to add is that I hope Liam and his manager as well as the PAFC (who look complicit in this) don't try to burn the MFC, because frankly we don't deserve it after giving Liam an opportunity and standing by him.
  15. How do we now what degree of credit Bailey gets for Adelaide's turn around this year? As for making us exciting to watch I think that statements just a reflection of how bad we've been this year. Going to a match under Bailey filled me with dread from day one until 186.
  16. Agree, You can improve kicking and decision making but will never make a bloke faster, no matter how good his kicking is. In fact change his running style and you may well change his kicking style detrimentally. I struggle to figure out how Bail, a low draft pick is viewed as such a failure when we have number one pick who plays with zero intensity or urgency and that's just the start of our problems.
  17. Lucky we have guys in the side who can kick. like Jack Watts!
  18. Seriously! Why just pot Rohan Bail? Nicholson = turn over merchant, Watts = half arsed, Trengove = wasted possessions, Tapscott = one hard contest per match, Sylvia = uninfluencial, McDonald = undisciplined, Jetta = missing, MacDonald = OOF....where do you stop?
  19. Epic Fail Melbourne. The statement that we wanted to play the year out has proved to be more hollow words. These guys wearing the Red & Blue have one hell of a task ahead of them winning the respect of their own suporters, let alone the football world. Is there even any anger in ONE of them about their performanaces this year. I don't see it!
  20. We had the same scenario with Bailey and McLean, Jolly and Daniher. It happens at other clubs as well. Some don't adapt to or like change. This isn't a unique, or neccesarily Neeld issue.
  21. Well he's been named so if he doesn't that would be poor, assuming he's fit?
  22. This whole situation with Carlton and Malthouse is pathetic. Whilst the media go a million miles an hour at the non-existent tanking story it is obvious to anyone with half a brain that a real story, the fact Malthouse was sounded out for the Carlton job possibly up to a year ago is right under their noses. Some are on to but doing nothing about it and I've heard a few express surprise at Kernahan's pause when he was asked about Malthouse yesterday. It may have been an accident, appears he just forgot his lines.
  23. I have to disagree with this statement. I've been to most of our games in the last four years, certainly all the Victorian games. The results this year may show we aren't better but there is clearly a structure to the way we now play. The issue right now is that the personnel, experience and fitness are not there to execute. If it is true that Bailey was to get a contract extension on the weekend of 186 then I see that as a black mark against the Board. Carlton have shown this week that you don't rush into those sorts of decisions. In my mind there was little tangible improvement from 2010 to 2011 and Bailey needed to be judged more critically, including on what was going on off-field.
  24. Wouldn't have mattered because Ratten would have just batted it away unlike Bailey who poured petrol on it. The unfortunate difference between us and Carlton is we set no clear boundaries with Bailey and as a result he ended up in dispute with Management. I hope to God that we do with Neeld after this honeymoon period so when the day comes that they decide he is no up to it, he will understand, like Ratten has that everyone is expendable.
