  1. In terms of a professional operation at the FD level the MFC was a rank amateur organisation. Therein lies the real reason why we haven't developed talent and have been on a downward spiral since '06. Blame 'tanking' if you like. How is that Hawthorn and Collingwood went on to win flags after 'tanking? To blame where we are on 'tanking' is a fairly obvious option for the lazy journo, opposition supporter or disenfranchised ex MFC employee. Let me turn your Pakistan Cricketer analogy in a differection. In professional sports in the US what the MFC has done would be openly expected and supported by all in that organisation and by those who support it. Why? Because they are professional, the MFC has not been!
  2. 6.66 is 100th of the number of the beast WTH? Devil worshiping math students? Loved it Col. That would smash a few stereotypes!
  3. Was never a huge fan of either but both came up with some classic lines.
  4. I don't see that at all. This is an article by a supporter but it SHOULD be an article by a staff reporter to put up a contrary view rather than the 'conga line of suck holes'* we have ATM lining up to kick us. *Copyright to PJK
  5. This topic, the whole concept, most of the suggestions are nauseating. I'll be arriving after 1/4 time at games this year and the AFL can F right off.
  6. Having been critical of the MCG's choice of music (I swear it's Tony Schibeci taking the pi55) I support it being improved but If I have to go to the footy this year and witness us run out to some cliched 'anthem' I'll wear ear plugs. I mean AC/DC....really? Wasn't that CC's go at Freo?
  7. If I said it was soapy water going down a plug hole, would that make it more palatable for you?
  8. They wouldn't need to improve much to show up their MFC form, so "thrive" might need some context. Personally I expect Rivers to be the same but look 'better' in Geelong's line-up so he'll thrive. Moloney if he can get to near where he was in '11 will be seen as thriving as well. Martin if he gets a run in the ruck will thrive (started to at Melbourne n that position). Gysberts, Bennell and Morton will be 'thriving' if they can get consecutive games. Petterd could thrive if he knuckles down. I had no idea about his attitude at the MFC last year but his on field performances were selfish.
  9. Regardless of what anyone thinks about innocent fun, being on a break, etc. You'd have to think Frawls has handed in his resignation from the leadership group by being part of it?
  10. Foundng club of the Aussie Rules comp based in Ontario, Canada http://www.highparkdemons.ca/home.php
  11. I think you're right. Recruiting blokes 'trying' the game seems to run contrary to Neeld's thinking, certainly ATM anyway. If we do go down this track again I would much rather we looked at an Irishman again. This guy North have got will be lucky to play a single game, but you could say that about a lot of rookies! Pure speculation and perhaps designed to draw a bit of media and public interest?
  12. I tend to agree. This looks like house cleaning associated with Anderson's exit. in actual fact I don't discount that this whole episode is in part associated with his departure.
  13. Careful what you wish for! Used to be able to sort the playing list by age, height, games etc. etc. This functionality appears to have been removed?
  14. Or CBDees can hit them up in Twitter @melbournefc
  15. I think you're punching above your weight. Well done!
  16. By the time we win one I doubt there will be many remnants left from our extended stay at the bottom. In any case I wouldn't worry. It would be less tainted than Essendon & Carlton's salary cap busting flags of the 90's. West Coasts drug induced achievements, Brisbane's merger concessions trifecta, or either of Collingwood or Hawthorn's flags that were the benefit of creative man management.
  17. OK, I'm starting to think you might be a [censored] bloke, which isn't part of a healthy culture.
  18. No young(ish) blokes. They are "going for it" but haven't even made finals yet. They could fall flat on their faces here? Would be god to watch
  19. Opinion & Conjecture. The reality is Liam, just like the rest of our list probably hadn't experienced a truly professional environment before the current FD came into being. Did he fail to adapt? He's not Robinson Crusoe, nor was he responsible, except for his own actions.
  20. Pfffft! You could say that about half our list. Three of our 'new' recruits couldn't get a game at other clubs! Clearly the bloke he's keeping out of the side needs to lift his game at least twice as far as JM.
  21. http://www.hi-tm.com/Documents/handpost.JPG Might want to try some mouth wash as well in consideration of that last part of your sentence
  22. If that's it I'll take it we have given up on trying to get to the blood red we were promised?
  23. It's one book to each household so you would easily cut that figure by half, if not more. Having said that I agree it could be optional and I nominate you to tell the club.
  24. Did you contact the club? It's not hard!
