  1. Up until 2012, we played Richmond twice, with our home game being the 2nd game. From then on we have played each other once with it being Richmond's home game. I would expect this to continue, knowing how the AFL operate these days and we will be slung a few to 'level' it up a bit. I would hope that the home game is rotating as it should be. My greatest worry in this article is that Richmond play 14 games at the G next year, same as the filth. Where are those extra games coming from? Unless they've found a few more game slots at the G, then another tenant might lose a game or two (and get shunted to Etihad or elswhere). It's conceivable the extra games are against co-tenants with no. change to the total number of games, but I wouldn't bank on it. Didn't Carlton request extra games on the G, in place of Etihad? I suppose we'll all find out next week.
  2. The only way I can see them doing it is to delist Tapscott and convince JT or Evans (for example) to go on the rookie list a la Michael Newton on full pay.
  3. As much as posters might want it - no contracted player will be paid out and delisted - it's that simple. Unless they do a Nathan Carroll or Campbell Brown, it wont happen! So can we end these ridiculous demands to cut contracted players.
  4. Not earth shattering news. Also confirmed James Harmes on the rookie list for another year. Edit - source MFC Website
  5. Thanks for the feedback Oneday. I was hoping to see him sneak through as the phantom drafts seem to have him going from the late teens to the mid-40's, but that's unlikely - bugger!
  6. Now I know why Roosy always has his hand over his face in the coaches box. It's because there's a 4'n'20 behind it.
  7. Most of our home games will be against interstate sides again.
  8. Isn't Lever a tall? Why is he part of the equation if Roos doesn't want to draft top end talls? I hear people say he could be the next Bontimpelli but he could also be the next Cale Morton (who also carved it up in his highlights package). Lever is also listed (and supposedly best suited) as a key defender. Didn't we just trade for one of those? I have no problem with drafting Lever but I'm not sure he fits the bill (or Roos' rule for drafting talls).
  9. As far as I understand it, McCartney last the senior players only. The junior players loved him and it's possibly why the young brigade have come on so well. I'd have him at Melbourne. My preference though is for George to get bored in retirement and come to training for a few hours a few times a week.
  10. All in good fun but I must say, I got more of a kick out of Chilli Boy/Nudge. Imagine what he could've trotted out with this trade period!
  11. I would love Maynard to be there. Has been rated in the 20's in some mock drafts and FWIW his father played for Melb (and Fitzroy?) The kid barracks for Melbourne to boot. Pick 20: Greater Western Sydney – Brayden Maynard Position: Forward Height: 186cm, Weight: 88kg, DOB: 20/09/1996 Club: Sandringham Dragons Projected draft range: 20-30 Player comparison: Ryan O’Keefe Brayden Maynard is a slick utility type that does his best work off the packs with an ability to kick on either side of his body. The hard-nosed, balanced midfielder is somebody that is targeted by opposition teams to shut down, given his ability to quickly set up play and importantly stream forward to goal. He’s been utilised in an array of positions: however, he ultimately looms more of a forward type. However, with increased endurance and fitness, he has the potential to make the move into the midfield, whether permanently or as a rotation. Aside from his brilliant goal kicking, Maynard is an aerial specialist with strong hands in a contest, who also marks strongly around the ground. Although he isn’t a polished kick of the ball (operating at just 60 per cent disposal efficiency), he has a terrific base to work with, allowing a club to mould him into any type of role. He has been impressive so far during the Dragons’ finals campaign, featuring in the best on both occasions. Paige Cardona's
  12. GNF - Does Roos like Brayshaw and Lever because Petracca will be taken or he because he just rates them better? Cheers and thanks for the debrief
  13. Happy we got Frost. Had we dealt earlier on him, I wouldn't be surprised if we'd picked up Whiley as part of the deal or got a better pick downgrade, but we were tangled up in other trades and scenarios at the time. Now, I'm excited by pick 2 and 3 (welcome to MFC A Brayshaw and /or C Petracca and/or P McCartin and/or J Lever).
  14. I've made countless often useless observations, but as far as I can tell, unless a contract term is clearly stated in a press release, it seems to always be a 1 year deal. I expect that's the case with Bail, Terlich and Riley.
  15. FMD - was expecting 2 or 3 years tops. Clark's terms are conspicuously absent. I have no desire to wish ill-health or injury on any player but I geez I hope Geelong get bitten on the bum with this.
  16. Two of Petracca, Brayshaw, McCartin, Lever makes me a happy camper.
  17. The only thing we need to clear in our cap space is the cobwebs.
  18. Now Adelaide to consider trumping Richmond for Trengove: Adelaide Crows look to trump Richmond deal for Melbourne midfielder Jack Trengove Yikes
  19. Try this on for size: Melbourne trades Pick 23 to Adelaide and receive Jarrod Lyons and 31 (or 50?). Melbourne trades 31 to GWS for Frost and 40 (or just 50 to GWS for Frost).
  20. I wouldn't rate Frost a 2nd rounder. Other than that, all good so far.
  21. I see where you're coming from and I agree - we definitely should've got Jack Viney for a 4th round pick.
