  1. just texted as much to my mate. I want pendles repeatedly put into the ground.I'm tipping a win. Let's not forget who the Pies have played this year and which teams have beaten them.
  2. Barring injuries Grimes may of played his last game in a Melbourne jumper.
  3. Beat me to it. Dawes can join Howe/Watts/Grimes as "must go" players. We are pushing s__t up hill as it is. I don't expect to get much back in return but for me it could possibly free up as much as 1.6 in the salary cap(obviously dependant on front loading). That's the key, freeing up the cash to allow us to target mids.
  4. Ive been doing night shift the past couple of weeks, lack of sleep....15 may of been a bit generous.
  5. Yes but how many understand that many of them are supposedly best 22. We are lucky to 15 of AFL standard(1st year players excluded).
  6. Whats your criteria then WYL? Wasn't it Viney that addressed the playing group after his first game, something along the line of "this crap is unnaceptable". If your criteria is "most skilful" player well that makes it Watts and no further comment is required.
  7. Captain doesn't always have to = most skilful player. He plays for the jumper and leads by example on field.
  8. I thought the sub was used to teach players a lesson.
  9. I agree about the players but with regards to Roos. Consultant.....I used to use that when asked what I do. He didn't do too badly consulting against the Bulldogs.
  10. Roos identified this and set about turning him into one. Happy for him to lead for another two years before handing it over to Viney. I think for the club as a whole that when you have players in the team that struggle to do the basics on the field but got the vote because of seniority or clubman status it sets you up to fail.
  11. How many of those leads did we have in or at the start of the last qtr?
  12. Pretty much sums it up. I think the potential "Trengove" trade last year showed Roos was willing do what many thought unthinkable. Goodwin will inherit this list in 18 months and should be very vocal in the list management meetings. If players think that because they continue to get picked they're safe then they only have themselves fooled. We have zero depth. I still think we have a number of winnable games left this year. Again, this years trade/draft period looms as one of the clubs most important.
  13. That's strange everyone was untouchable last week because we had a win.
  14. Maybe because of last week. Swans will obviously win and win well but some of their players will be going through the motions after last weeks epic encounter. Maybe 80-100 but I would be expecting a repeat of 186.
  15. On a side note I moved to Sydney five years ago for work and have maintained my membership since. This year is my 13th year as a Redleg member. Last year I managed to attend 8 games in Melbourne, this year I havnt been so lucky being stuck in Sydney. However I have watched five games on TV. My opinions are based on more than one game which according to some defines a career even those with a history of substandard performances.
  16. Players like Pendlebry/Rioli/L Jetta all have similar physiques (maybe not as tall) as Watts. Have a look at the way they attack the footy, they're in a different league. Great clubs continually look to improve their list, if trading off any combination of Watts/Howe/DawesToumpas with draft picks netted us a Blicavs and a gun mid it would be hailed as a recruiting masterstroke and those that were traded out would soon be forgotten. Whilst the win against the Bulldogs was a good one(not many on here had faith) it was against another young up and coming side who are fast coming back to the pack. Only three teams are any chance of winning it this year and as we found out prior to the Bulldogs game we are s long way from competing with them. But stuff it lets make no trades at years end because our list is full of 1-natural competitors and 2- people who can use the footy.
  17. I don't work in an office I work in construction, I've worked with blokes who have nearly died, one bloke has lost his right arm another bleeding on the brain and possible limited mobility for the rest of his life. Sorry what was your point again?
