Delistings/trades at end of the season
Bombay Airconditioning replied to Northern Summer's topic in Melbourne Demons
I did say speculative. 500k is still too much. -

This it it, not all picks have to be used on kids, we can on trade them for established talent. -

The wages I posted are speculative but if Garland and Howe can demand 5-600k they're welcome to it. Play Tmac, Frost and Dunn as our 3 key backs. Jetta, Salem and H/Cross. -

700k Dawes450k Grimes 350k Garland 300k Howe 200k Toumpas If we are maxed out this year lets hope that's because management are/were smart enough to manage it that way so we have space to make a play for a established player/s. Weren't we offering Hanners a massive deal? Would anyone really be against any of the above named players being moved on if it ended up like a Vince/Sylvia situation. -

Hogans is contracted until 2017, he turns 22 that year. By the end of next year all going well with regards to injury we need to offering him a long term deal. Pav is just about cooked. More than happy for everyone else to receive 3 year deals. By then we should be a club that stands for something and retains its players. -
This year marks the end of contracts for Howe/Garland with possibly both at new clubs next year. Next year Grimes/Dawes/Terlich are out of contract. 2017 looms as the best list we've had in years. That is if we use the last two trade-draft periods an indication then we should be sitting nicely. Should Godwin want out, which I don't think will happen if quite happily take Woosha.

How much are we paying him?

Wouldnt be against a long term deal to Hogan. Sooner rather than later. For a marquee player it's justified. 2016 marks the end of the dead wood contracts. -
Would love to know what the Swans/Hawks/Freo have for 2 million.

Luke Parker 5 mil over 5 years and front load it.

Jetta Frost Dunn Cross Tmac Salem H Jones Angus Watts Pedo Vince Garlett Hogan Kent Gawn Viney Tyson VB ANB Stretch JKH Spenser developing along with an injured Petracca and Trengove. Seeing these young/first year players come in and be effective has been great. A combination of natural talent and development under established coaches. Just throwing this out there....again....(all estimates) 700k Dawes 400k Grimes 350k Garland 300k Howe 200k Toump = 1.95 million of our cap on 5 players. I think we could afford to loose all 5 of those players and move forward not backwards. It would do three things. Firstly the so called mentally scarred(I don't see much upside in them, Howe is probably already gone). Secondly frees up massive space in our salary cap. Thirdly allows us to target real talent and put forward real offers to the likes of Hogan. It would mark the last of the dead wood contracts.

Any chance the "go home" factor will kick in for him?

What is your favourite TV/Radio commentary team?

MMM Scott Lucas and Nathan Thompson -
Exactly, play to our strengths not their weaknesses.
-
Wasnt Clarko quoted as doing this a couple of weeks back and in his own words "it had little to no effect". Again, being brutal and coming to play should be a weekly thing, not something that hinges on articles written or milestone games.
-
Dawes is contracted for next year, wouldn't care what we got for him if someone took over his contract.
-
You forgot to mention "speaks well" and "polished media performer".
-
The odds flipped after yesterday's game. We moved from $2.60 - $1.60 overnight. The bombers went the other way.
-
I agree but I'm sure we will find a way to grind it out.
-
Sick of players supposedly being injured. If you take the field you're good to go, don't then use it as a reason for a poor performance. Today's game wasn't a final.
-
Those odds were the complete opposite yesterday.
-
Yesterday Dees $2.60 v bombers $1.60 Today Dees $1.60 v bombers $2.60

Agree RJay, only surpassed by his brother.

MATCH PREVIEW & TEAM SELECTION - Round 14
Bombay Airconditioning replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Can you please elaborate for the uneducated how he is impacting games? As I've said before the whole leadership/clubman line is wearing thin. Is it the fact he's a great public speaker like Grimes? Is it his forward pressure laying a massive 2 tackles against the Cats? Is it his decoy running? Let's not forget what he's costing us. As has already been mentioned, we can become better rather than remain content with mediocre performances from someone on top dollar. -
