  1. And they’re not over celebrating....
  2. Not much love for JKH but he’s in so let’s get behind him.
  3. 3 out 4 of Richmond’s last 4 games have been victories by 3, 3 and 8. Everyone is gettable this year.
  4. Although a loss would mean I could watch the team week 1 of the finals this is a must win game. A home final first up and a potential dream run of all finals at the G should we be good enough to progress. It will be really interesting to see our mindset at the start of the game.
  5. Dylan Shiel, get it done.
  6. Something that I don’t think anyone has considered is money. He’s 24 next year and in the last year of his contract, obviously none of us know how much he’s on but it would be fair to assume it would be quite substantial. Part of his contract would of been based on potential and the go home factor. This next contract should be naturally larger and his “payday”. But if his inability to perform in big games continues or a potential move to defence was to occur (I can’t see this happening, I think he would change clubs to where he could play forward) then he would/should be offered a contract that reflects his worth to the team. This could result in a significant difference between what we’re offering a what another club may offer.
  7. Being a Redleg my GF ticket awaits. Cant wait to watch the boys put Richmond to the sword.
  8. Dream big, on our day we can beat anyone. Stating the obvious we can’t afford any more injuries.
  9. I think the Pies will have the higher %. They play Freo while Hawks play the Swans.
  10. A hypothetical..... We beat Giants next week and the Hawks beat the Swans. If we were to beat Geelong and the Pies beat WCE in Perth. We could potentially play all our finals at the G if we we’re good enough to progress through.
  11. Thanks, much appreciated.
  12. Can anyone remember how the swap over occurs in the finals? The winner of 5 v 8 plays loser of ? The winner of 6 v 7 plays loser ? Is there a real potential to play week 1 Geelong week 2 Pies week Hawks/Tigers
  13. I’m saying all teams have injuries. We didn’t lose the mentioned games because Lever and Viney weren’t playing. I think mindset is the reason we lost, and that’s an area the Hawks have us well and truly covered.
  14. Hawks currently have a couple out.
  15. How would Hogan go on Buddy, Ben Brown or a Joe Danniher type. If the answer is for Hogan to play in defence that actually strengthens the argument to trade him and a trade should be sought before any such move was to happen. If Hogan was to play in defence it would be an admissioyn of defeat. The no.1 trait of a key defender isn’t contested marking or kicking, it’s the ability to beat your opponent. That can be by out marking his opponent, but it can also be by punching/spoiling the footy. In order to be at the contest you also have to have the physical attributes to match up against some of the games best forwards. Hogan is a great mark leading up onto the ball but that doesn’t necessarily translate to outmarking fwds that just up at the footy. As for kicking, yes Hogan uses the ball well when passing by foot while others such as Frost and Omac often get criticised by their disposal but that’s why we’ve got the likes of Salem and Lewis down there. All players are required to kick the footy but there have been numerous times in most games where the ball could/should be passed off to our better users of the footy. In short I’d rather another gun mid than Hogan playing at CHB.
  16. Agree with this, but with this comes a significant pay drop.
  17. I hear you B.B. and totally agree, but the wheel has to turn in our favour at some point. I’m not confident but hopefull, so until it’s confirmed, for me we’re still alive.
  18. I wasn’t aware of the interest from Essendon. I would do that deal without hesitation.
  19. Mastering the art of bafoonery. I posted several times in the “trade Hogan” thread yesterday and I stand by my comments, mainly “you ultimately get judged by how you perform in the big games”. For you to suggest some of us take any joy out of this news is just plain stupid. And no I don’t feel ashamed, I’ll leave that to those who either can’t or refuse to deal with reality. Its happened, we process it, park it up and move on, we’ve still got two games to play and a potential finals campaign. I personally believe this news doesn’t mark the end of our season.
  20. The Suns game provided that opportunity but wasn’t taken.
  21. So he played hurt against the Suns for what reason?
  22. With regards to TMac Jaded I don’t think we honestly know what his maximum output is. We’ve never seen him at FF for a whole game, let alone a whole season.
  23. Please read my post about who’s he’s kicked those goals against, again players are judged in the big games.
  24. I just posted earlier to Jaded, I would target a Giants mid, maybe a Cognilio (24 years old) or Whitfield (24 years old) or Shiel (25) Kelly (23) doesn’t matter if they’re in contact because as we know they can be broken. Giants get the picks from the Hogan trade allowing them to attack the draft again for top end talent. Giants still have Scully, Ward amongst others, if the price was right we might be able to squeeze one out. Then for Peter Wright we could trade fringe players/ 2nd round picks. Would Peter Wright kick 50 goals, probably not, but with another gun mid he could get 30-35 as well as playing ruck. But on the flip side we leave TMac at FF and he could get anywhere between 60-70. If these scenarios or something couldn’t happen I wouldn’t trade Hogan purely for picks that we keep.
  25. Players will ultimately be judged in the big games, so right now Hogan is not a gun. As for suggestions we should be bold, target one of the Giants gun mids, we don’t need more picks. Any picks would go straight to the Giants. Then as I’ve mentioned earlier target a Peter Wright who is from Melbourne and was out of favour earlier in the year. He could play fwd and chop out Gawn in the ruck leaving TMac to play permanently as our deepest fwd.
