  1. You’re not the only one, for me it’s the fact he signed an extension with the Swans last year to remain there until the end of 2019.
  2. What hope do Carlton have if they are in witness protection yet Channel 7 keeps telling us where they are on Friday nights.
  3. That’s pretty much how I remember the ratings Macca although I haven’t looked into them lately. The first horse I was involved in won a Maiden in his second start and was allocated a rating of 62 post race. He went in as the top weight at Wodonga in his next race which he won and jumped to a 66. The article seems on the money. Interestingly with El, he was a 62 after his maiden win. Went up to 63 after the 5th in his first up run to Double Jeopardy, remained a 63 after the 5th to Nature Strip and went in as a 62 today after his 4th a fortnight ago at Sandown. The horse lost one rating point from that 4th placing. He is currently a 62 but unsure if the rating has been updated from today.
  4. I missed the boat with the good place dividend Wadda. I saw $16 and $5 on TAB this morning and didn’t take it. Thought I’d wait. That was one decent plunge late.( It wasn’t me) I thought it was a very good run considering he was trapped the widest for the majority. Couldn’t get a decent spot. I’m not suggesting the horse would have won but it would have finished a lot closer. Anyways, on to Saturday fellas.
  5. I read Hunt trained fully, how did he look CJ? We might need to rush him back.
  6. Oh come on.....Harmes also a no show which casts some doubt on him.
  7. Spoke to mate a short time ago. Plan is to get the horse behind the leaders and take a sit behind them and let him go at the furlong. They will certainly need some luck to get to the desired position from a wide barrier. Horse had a jump out last week with a barrier blanket and the blinkers in an attempt to make him jump better. He’s been sprawling a tad out of the gates recently. He didn’t jump all that well but worked home well through horses. I believe blinkers will be on for the first time and hopefully it works out like it did for the Zephyr. The track could suit the outside horses later in the day or it may not. Hard to gauge how a track will play out. If the horse does get stuck 3 wide hopefully he can get some cover during the run. Good luck all if you have a wager.
  8. AFL considering bringing in rule changes in some games this year as a trial. ? http://m.afl.com.au/news/2018-07-25/new-rules-likely-to-be-trialled-this-season
  9. Close thread!!’ You bloody ripper!! Or change the header.
  10. Wednesday now and this really stings. A very tough pill to swallow still, made worse by the half dozen Cats supporters at work constantly reminding me of the devastation. The only thing I have found to be therapeutic in a way is the discussion on here. Difference of opinion yes, but most are burning. Saw footage of ANB last night punching the turf after the siren. The players need to move on as do we. Can’t wait for the bounce on Saturday night.
  11. It was interesting listening to Lewis on 360 last night. They showed the behind the goals footage to him of the last 25 seconds and asked him why he was sitting off Menzel. Lewis said a team would usually go through the corridor with little time remaining in order to get the ball forward as quickly as possible. His thought was he needed to guard the corridor. When the boys went through the review on Monday he realised he should have gone to Menzel towards the boundary but also said if you want to give up a kick it would be best to do it wide. It sounded like he took some heat from Goody during the review. That’s the way I read it anyway.
  12. He’s on from 7pm. Jack something.
  13. Yep, I wouldn’t worry about DrD. Can’t please the doctor....said he would go to the Bulldogs game and wouldn’t be happy if we won because a win doesn’t help us. Go figure!!
  14. Here’s the funny part. I was driving home from work last night and was listening to SEN. Of course they had the ‘ Melbourne’ hour. A lot of Dees rang through and gave their take, some good, some bad. One of the callers was a Hawks fan and gave his opinion on Dangerstager. The caller basically referenced the pointing to the head part, “ I’m so smart and all that” and labelled Danger an arrogant individual to which the host responded “ Well that’s how smart he is and kudos to him” or something to that effect. A couple of calls later a Geelong fan rings through to complain about Max staging from the off the ball collision that resulted in a goal for us. The caller continues with his rant and goes on to label Gawn a ‘girl’ on air. The host of course does not defend Max or cut that caller off immediately but I’m glad the next two callers were Dees fans and defended our great Max while letting the host know about the bias.
  15. I believe you are correct, that’s my understanding also. The topic only reminded me of that horror ending last year. I didn’t mean to sound like I was potting our club.
  16. Haha, reminds me of last year’s finals tickets email.
  17. Terrific place value at the moment. I was thinking the same bet Macca. If he can get the front without too much work from the wide draw he could be hard to toss from the placings over the 1000m. I will put a call through to mate tomorrow and post any updates tomorrow night or Wednesday morning the latest.
  18. Thanks for that @Macca I can see it mapping out that way. Great preview....move over Gator. I had no idea about Gold Mag’s last 600m and i went to the track. That’s one serious quick sectional on the soft. Connections will be finding it hard to curb their excitement about the horse’s future.
  19. Haha, I’ll be backing him as well Macca. I’ve had a couple of flutters on him in the past, not when he’s won of course. ? In other news, El Magnificence has accepted this Wednesday at Sandown. Race 5. It’s got the Dan Zephyr syndrome, drawing barrier 16 of 16. The race is over 1000m, back in distance will probably suit the horse. Bet365 markets currently have the horse at $13.
  20. It’s a real shame Macca. The horse possesses one of the most devastating sprints I have ever seen on a racetrack. You never know though, they might try again with him. Such a unique situation in a way, I can’t recall a previous top line galloper being retired from a refusal to jump in trials.
  21. A torp is risky. A drop punt down the line could have resulted in the same thing. He sent the ball down towards our best contested mark in Gawn. What else was Trac to do when the ump clearly waved play on? There’s maybe one short risky option on that pic as pointed out earlier. I see Lloyd and Bartel were critical of Trac also in the dissecting video claiming he panicked. I don’t believe this kick cost us the game.
  22. Sounds positive. Article also touches on the Viney and Hibbo injuries. http://m.melbournefc.com.au/news/2018-07-23/brayshaw-resigning-not-far-away-mahoney.mobileapp
  23. This is from a Brayshaw article on the AFL website. Meanwhile, the Demons have penciled in their round 21 clash with Sydney as a return date for key players Jack Viney and Michael Hibberd.
  24. Chautauqua fails to jump again. I think the horse took one look, saw Winx and realised how this was going to end, hence “ Nah, I’ll stay in the barriers thanks”. ? https://www.racing.com/news/2018-07-23/chautauqua-fails-to-jump-again
  25. Yes, leaving ourselves vulnerable to a turnover doesn’t make sense. The only player I can see in that shot instructing Trac is Jesse pointing to the spot where the ball was kicked and he’s 80 metres away.
